Harry Potter and the Time of Secret's
Harry stared out of the car window bored. He was in his uncle's car on the way back from King's Cross Station. He had been silent for most of the journey but now with his Uncle Vernon yelling at him he knew he had to speak soon.
"Well boy what do you have to say for yourself?" Uncle Vernon asked his face looking very red.
Harry opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted.
"Honestly Vernon give the boy a break." Aunt Petunia snapped.
Harry stared at his Aunt in shock. His Aunt Petunia never stood up for him.
Uncle Vernon was also staring at Aunt Petunia in shock.
"Why are you sticking up for the freak?" Vernon asked struggling to breath.
"Because he's family now shut up and drive." She answered sternly.
Vernon did just that but he did open his mouth and shut it again like a goldfish.
But if that wasn't the strangest thing Aunt Petunia turned around a smiled at Harry. She smiled! What was going on?
Harry stared at Petunia for the rest of the journey in shock, and before he knew it they were at number 4 Privet Drive.
Harry got out of the car quickly and pulled his school trunk out after him. He pulled it up to the front door and waited until his Uncle unlocked the door. When he finally got inside he started to pull his trunk upstairs and into his room. It took awhile but he did finally get it at the bottom of his bed. He stared at hid bedroom door and wondered if he should go down. Nah his Uncle would probably kill him. He flopped on his bed and stared at the ceiling. Well maybe this summer won't be as bad as the others, maybe just maybe. He heard his Uncle shout then the front door slam and then finally the car engine start.
Harry stood up and wondered what was going on. First his Aunt was being nice to him then his Uncle was storming out of the house... Something strange was going on. Harry decided he needed to have a chat with his Aunt Petunia. He got up out of bed and walked out of his bedroom. He walked slowly downstairs wondering what was going on. He stepped into the kitchen and saw his Aunt cleaning the sink.
"Aunt Petunia what was all that about?" He asked uncertain.
"What was all what about?" She answered not looking at him.
"In the car you stood up for me and just then when Uncle Vernon left. What's going on?" He told her sitting down at the table.
"Harry over the year's I know I've treated you badly but because of Vernon I never realized what I was doing because he would encourage it. I know me and your mother had out difficulty's but in the end she was my sister. I was jealous of her being able to attend that school and I took it out on you but when I saw you at that train station with all those people I realised that they were your family and I was angry that Vernon had pushed you away, and when I was in the car I just thought enough is enough and well you know the rest." She told him sitting opposite him.
Harry was shocked and was doing a goldfish impression. "But why?"
"Why? Your mother was my sister and when she died I was angry because if she had never of become a witch then she wouldn't of died, and after all that I guess I blamed you when I shouldn't of. I'm sorry." She said sadly.
"I... I forgive you. But not Uncle Vernon he is... I... your my family he isn't." Harry told her smiling slightly.
"Thank you and me and you Uncle well let's just say he's staying in a hotel far away from here." She said smiling.
"Why?" Harry asked making himself a glass of water.
"When we got back he yelled at me and asked why I had defended the freak. I told him that you was part of my family and if he didn't like it he could leave." She said actually grinning.
"So are you OK?" He said sipping his water.
"Yes I'm fine I'm just wondering what you do in the wizarding world Lily never told me." Petunia told him.
"Well I can tell you." Harry said smiling.
"OK tell me about that game that you play... Quitic I think it's called." She said.
"It's called Quiditch and it's a really fun game. It's kinda like basketball but a hundred feet in the air. You see you have three hoop's on either side of the pitch and each team had three Chaser's now the chaser's job is to get the Quaffle which is a football sized ball through the opposing team's hoops and score ten points. But then you've got the Keeper whose job it is to defend the hoops against the Chasers." He started. "Then you've got the Beater's whose job it is to protect their team and attack the other team using these ball's called Bludgers that are really fast and hurt a hell of a lot when they hit you. Then finally you have me the Seeker they are kinda like the focus point in the game we the Seeker's have to find the Golden Snitch and that is not an easy job the Golden Snitch is incredibly small and fast it's impossible to see but Seeker's have to catch it then and only then does the game end and the winning team gets a hundred and fifty point's for their team."
"Wow that does sound like fun. Your the seeker?" Petunia asked.
"Yeah ever since my first year at Hogwart's, I was the youngest player in a century you know cause normally you have to be second year and up to play Quiditch but I played since my first year. I used to have a Nimbus 2000 but that got broke and now I have a Firebolt. Well I did have one." He muttered thinking about Sirius.
"Did what happened to it?" She asked.
"Umbridge took it of me last year." Harry told her glumly.
"Umbridge?" She said confused.
"Last year the Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge sent her as the DADA teacher and the High Inquisitor and she had the nickname 'Umbitch' because she was completely a evil little toad. She looks like a toad too." He explained.
"Really? Well maybe you should write and ask for it back." Petunia suggested.
"You know your right! Dumbledore's the headmaster now not Umbitch he can get it back. He owes me on as well" Harry added thinking about the Prophecy.
He jumped up and ran to his room and quickly wrote Dumbledore a letter. It said:
Dear Professor Dumbledore,
As you may or may not know last year Umbridge gave me a lifetime Quiditch ban and confiscated my Firebolt. Could you please lift the ban and send me my Firebolt?
It may not be long but he was still angry at Dumbledore because of everything he had done last year but he really needed his Firebolt back. He tied the letter on to Hedwig's leg and watched her fly off. He stood there for a moment thinking. He had never actually talked to his Aunt Petunia before but now that he had he was glad in a way that she was his Aunt because she was quite nice. Well for the past few hour's she had been nice. Harry walked back to his Aunt a noticed that Dudley wasn't around he had been in the car earlier but he hadn't seen him since.
"Aunt Petunia where's Dudley?" Harry asked as he walked into the kitchen. Petunia was cooking and gestured Harry to sit down.
"He went with Vernon. Apparently he agrees with his father." She told him sniffing. "I'm sorry." He said not sure of what else he could say.
"It's not your fault. If anything it Vernon. Anyway I'm making some dinner. Could you please set the table." She responded smiling.
Harry did set the table but was shocked as he was used to being told what to do but was unused to the word 'Please' from his family.
The food was quite nice maybe not as nice as Hogwart's or but it was nice.
"So do you have a girlfriend?" She asked eating.
Harry choked on his food and needed a drink. "Well I did have a girlfriend she was called Cho but it didn't work out she kept crying and wanted to talked about her ex-boyfriend and it was really depressing. But no I don't have a girlfriend." Harry explained.
"Well maybe you just haven't met the right person yet." Aunt Petunia told him.
And with that Harry carried on eating, happy to be home.
