They are usually jolly, friendly, and non-adventurous (except the Tooks and more recently the Bagginses.)
An Elf is a creature that lives a long time. Elrond, one of the oldest, lives through four ages (about a thousand years each). They are a fair people who love nature and stuff. They never sleep, but just daydream. They are dying out, or going across the sea to the west. Some stay behind, though, like Arwen or Legolas.
