Turn Around Again by Potestas and Mulch Diggums. [Potestas] Waitlisted: recommended by own author.

A Root and Growl by JuliennePotato. [ilex-ferox] Added.

Nocturne by Amberle Elessedil. [ilex-ferox] A well- written piece of work: there is a slight tendency to purple prose but the overall quality is much higher than the average story on the site. The theme has been done before but the characterisation is convincing and maturely handled.

Deliverance by Lli. [ilex-ferox] I beta-ed this piece, so I hope I can still recommend it. Another of Lli's re-workings of myth, this seamlessly combines two very different traditions into a believable whole. The writing is starker than her usual style with several lines carrying more weight than their simplicity suggests. As with all her work, the imagery is particularly effective.

Mills and Fowl by hobbitsdoitbetter. [ilex-ferox] A nice one-shot, an amusing pastiche building on canon in a Colfer-like style. The humour works well and there are several memorable lines as well as convincing characterisation. As an added plus, the author is Irish.
