You know (to totally change the subject after talking on the off-topic board with Sokai), I have a theory on Az's dark tower/palace. The tower she resides in looks an awful lot like the main tower in the old Emerald City. My theory is that after the last Wicked Witch was locked away, the ruling Queen (Ozma, maybe) took the emerald from the city and hid it. Without the emerald--the city's power and magic--the city began to lose its luster and dark stone grew over it. The inhabitants of the Emerald City left, rebuilding their home in the new town of (what is to become) Central City. Each Queen then, throughout the ages, rehid the emerald to keep it safe and hidden. That's why Evil-Az retook the tower to reside in and that's why Evil-Az couldn't find the emerald...she was searching in all the places the old Queens' hid it!!

Any thoughts?

That's a pretty impressive theory, Angie. I actually was thinking the same thing, and most likely, it's close to truth if NOT absolutely true.

I know was I writing something similar while continuing my Atonement's Echo story, anyway. ^_^

I also have a theory on the origin of the OZ phrase "Tin Man" (heh...if you can't tell yet, my character for one of my TM stories is a story teller...someone who has memorized all the "old tales" and use to recite them to DG and Az when they were young).....Nick Chopper, the Tin Woodsman and Emperor of the Kingdom of the South, as evidenced in "The Land of OZ", had a star engraved on his left breastplate (look it up, that's a fact straight from the book). After he decided he had had enough with ruling and living, and decided he would rather like to try "death", he etched a star into his tin watch shaped like a heart and gave it to the people of his kingdom before lying down and "ending". Annuals passed, and one day a stranger approached the city. Through several events (which I'm not going to list for (1) space reasons and (2) it would spoil the story later) the stranger proved himself to be as kind and fair as the Tin Emperor. The people of the South wished for him to be their next ruler in return for such selfless help, but he replied that "helping the innocents and those who cannot help themselves" was return enough. They then were sure he was perfect as a ruler and, after much badgering, he relented. His first act was to create a special group of devoted men who would help others the way he had. They rode with tin stars pinned over their uniforms' left breast pockets in remembrance of the Tin man who inspired such beliefs in his own works. These people later became a wider known form of police and were called "Tin Man", in the emperor's memory.

Thank you both! I have found that I tend to make backstories for things, even when they really don't need them, to give them substance and make them even more real. That's how my OZ character ended up becoming a StoryTeller. She has a million of them...Jack PumpkinHead and Tip, the Sawhorse and Patchwork People (both of which I've turned into another breed than the original meanings), among many others. I tend to get a little carried away ^___^"

So, has anyone written anything new? El, I'm still waiting for chapter two...(but I loved those dresses on your DA account for your W.I.T.C.H. story! I'm starting to read it, even though I've never heard of the series before...)

(Seriously??? It's a good series ^_^ Although I've stopped reading the comics cuz there's too many and I have zero time to read 'em all. But go to YouTube and just type in "W.I.T.C.H. episodes" and you'll get 'em all, pretty much, and can watch it there ^_^ And I hope you really like my story, and I'm glad you liked the art I'd done for it ^_^)

OK so, is anyone else afraid of the potential B&B Syndrome (Beauty and the Beast Syndrome) that Glitch could fall to? I mean, they establish Glitch as a complex-character and have us fall in love with him... but then they bring back the brain- Ambrose- and well, then he just wouldn't be <i>Glitch</i> if that happened. What's the point of creating Glitch if they're going to change him (which, by the way, is NOT growth- growth is heartily aproved by fanbases)into someone completely different?!!

Honestly I don't foresee that happening in the long-run, at least if I'm understanding you correctly (which I might not be :p). It might start out where it seems that Ambrose isn't a particularly likable character but we have to take into account that once Glitch is reunited with the Ambrose side of himself that both sides are going to be irrevocably changed. He can no longer be just Ambrose but then again, he can also no longer be just Glitch either. He'd have to try to reconcile both sides of himself into one (new) being, with some traits from Ambrose and some from Glitch.

It may be rough and patchy (sometimes we love him, sometimes we hate him) but eventually he'd become who he needs to be with both the Glitch-side and Ambrose-side working in tandem. That, to my mind, is character growth because no matter how we like to slice it, unless he flat out refuses to accept his brain back, he HAS to change for the better or the worse just like everybody else.

Of course, I'm trying to be optimistic about it. :)

Yeah, that's always the possibility. Like, they (the creators) might not want to change him at all even IF he gets his brain put back where it's meant to be, but then would look back at the footage and script and be like, "Well, YEAH, but...we DID make his personality be COMPLETELY different when he HAD briefly reconnected with his brain at the end of part 3, though...We can't ignore that..." So I think at most they would have him be significantly different at FIRST (if it were made a series, I mean), honoring that uppity nature Ambrose clearly possesses, which would had to or fuel future "drama" with the characters who would be happy Glitch got his brain back but be sad that he's apparently "gone" in the process.

But after a while of getting used to having his mind completely back, it'd naturally all fall into place and he'd become one as sly essentially said. I mean, obviously he was/is loveable and kind by nature a bit, w/or w/out his vast knowledge. He'd probably merely gotten used to his important job as Royal Advisor and the pressures of inventing this and that, and after a time found all that far more important to him than slowing down and enjoying life and FEELING, you know? But obviously w/out his brain and said sagacity he WAS able to do just that and realize the things he'd taken for granted....*Shrugs* Just my take, anyhow.
