Let's try something a little less serious. I've noticed two main schools of pairing-naming. There's combining names, like Sheelos for Sheena/Zelos from Tales of Symphonia and there's also using a term related to the pairing and adding the suffix "-shipping" such as Pokeshipping for Ash/Misty in Pokemon. I imagine it's because the Baten Kaitos fandom is rather small and scattered, but I haven't seen many, if any fanon names. According to antoher forums, there "Kalha" fro Kalas/Xelha but I've never seen this anywhere else. It does roll off the tongue a bit easier than "Xelhas."
Which system would work better for Baten Kaitos, the name combinin or -shipping? I know one person who came up with the incredibly puntasitc "Oceanshipping" for Kalas/Xelha. I swear only Pokemon's "Rocketshipping" is more puny. What about Savyna/Gibari? Does Sabari sound good? Or Givyna? What kind of shipping term could be made for up that?
10/10/2009 #1 ReportYeah, I remember talking about this in one of the other topics. At this point I doubt that pairing names like "Kalha" would stick, but they're still fun to make up. Especially because Kalas/Trill could either be "Trillas" or "Kill." XD
Anyways, I prefer the name-squishing method to the "-shipping" one myself, but I could really go for either one.
9/14/2010 #2 ReportLet's see...Gibari/Savyna= Sabari or Gibyna, Melodia/Kalas= Melas or Kalodia, Lyude/Mizuti= Lyuti or Mizude, Kalas/Lyude= Kalude or Lyas, Xelha/Lyude= Xelude or Lyuha (damn, Xelha's name is kinda hard to do this with for some reason). I'll let someone else continue, but for now I kinda like Lyuti and Sabari. The first has a funny ring to it and the latter sounds like a brand of car.

10/11/2010 #5 ReportDo you refer to Geldoblame/Melodia as Gelodia or Meldoblame? I've always used Meldoblame, at least in my head, because it's slightly more recognizable and sounds less like some rare stone. ...You do have to wonder how his parents came up with the name, though.
And I just realize that we already had parts of this name-combining conversation on the Favorite Pairings topic like two years ago...

Heh, it's nice to see someone commenting in this topic. I figured no one was interested when I first posted it. By the way, I rather like the sound of Sabari, Xelude, Lyuti, and Gelodia.

My excuse for being away was...well, I guess college and guilt for not working on original fiction more often. I also have a boy I kind of love now, but I'd almost say that detail is what drove me back to the (Kalas/Xelha) fandom. Yeah, I went there.
10/12/2010 #10 Reporti just recently got into it, actually! imo it is unbelievably adorable. ;-; ♥ and eeeeeeee~ it's... really hard not to ship it, haha! mostly everyone i've met considers it canon, too. :o (but lol idefk what i could make out of their names. i can't even think of one with "nero" that sounds decent. gero? neroblame? wut. :|)
