8/4/2008 #1 ReportAh... PoTH -sighs- I remember falling in love with the story, the original version of PoTH anyway. I can probably go on with a whole list of things that I loved about The Power of Two Hearts. I can't say much about The Gates of Dawn though, because I couldn't bring myself to read past Chapter 1, like that was it for me.
It's not that the story is bad - it's just that I'm a huge, huge fan of the old version, and, the new version doesn't attract me as much as the old version. No offence to the author or anything, I still think KayJuli is a great author, and the Gates of Dawn is a great story - but it's just not as good as the old PoTH, with the magic and everything.
8/4/2008 #2 ReportSame goes for me. I am a huge fan of Kayjuli's Power of Two Hearts...but rather the ORIGINAL version. I understand she is trying to mature as a writer but the charm of the original PoTH relies on its fantasy and adventure. I am disappointed with "The Gates of Dawn". I think she should have just retained the original and created another story for her current goals. The original version was the one that inspired me to write in the first place. So it is rather sad for me that it had been replaced with another version.

Magic is the heart of PoTH and without it, I have no motivation to continue reading. I apologize if Kayjuli reads this. This is just a personal opinion.

Taking out the magic in PoTH is like killing what I loved most about the story, so that kills the story for me as well.

8/5/2008 #5 ReportI haven't read it before, but I wanted to know before I do what makes it so much different form the first one. I mean, is it the feeling it gives you, new ideas or is the writing style changed from the first one?
It's really great that everyone is taking such a interest in the difference between the first one and the second. I was also wondering if any of you had any tips or advice for the author as to how to go about their story?
8/6/2008 #6 ReportIt starts out really good, but it appears that it will never be finished. Did she finish the original one? If so, I wish se hadn't deleted it since it seems that I shall never know how this story ends.

And yes I completely agree. The first one was beautiful written with the intertwining of magic with the plot. To have it all taken away... I didn't bother to read past the first chapter. I will always remember the original version and keep it there in my little heart. Haha.

8/9/2008 #8 Reportdoes anyone know where to find the old version? I really want to read it and be able to compare it to the new version because practically everyone I speak to, who have read KayJuli's stories, say that her original versions are better than what she has now.

1/25/2009 #10 ReportI would sign a petition for the old version a MILLION times if it would get KayJuli to put it back up...I think I would like the new version because she's such a great writer but I read the older one so many times...i would love to be able to read it again too.

9/18/2010 #15 ReportOk, I spent the last half hour trying to find the new story and was totally devastated to discover that she took down all her stories. Again! I wish to express all grievances to KayJuli, but I can't really see how I can PM her anyway. On a happier note, someone sent me her original story after much much looking. It's everything up to when the story was re-posted. 1221KB - PM if you're looking.
