Seriously, Animal Crossing has been rehashed in the same form with little to no significant changes in gameplay. Adding new fish, fossils, furniture and so forth really just made the last two games expansion packs of the original. I'd like to see stronger NPC interaction with variables; bring back the NES games (which won't happen thanks to Wii's virtual console), and up the villager count back to fifteen. Get rid of watering cans; I want to plant flowers and never have to worry about them again.
But in the end Animal Crossing is a hard game to keep fresh and new. It's a novelty, and I think we'll all generally be less enthused the more remakes come out. The concept is really too rigid with limited challenges and few to no limits. It's up to fans to decide where to go with the game at this point, because as little as we know what we want Nintendo knows even less.

Yes I agree with you.
I was really psyched when Animal Crossing: City Folk came out, and I bought it the day it came out. But since then, I was really disappointed in how much of a remake the game really was.
Everything from the Wild World/GameCube/N64's Version was pretty much copied and re-edited in the new game... which was a bit disappointing.
I was expecting the Wii version to have a bit more added to it to enhance gameplay, not that the city is great and all, but I was really expecting something to "Wow" me.
Anyway, this is coming from a fan of the game since the GameCube version. :P Sayonara ~Ash-Sensei
7/10/2010 #2 ReportI just got the GREATESTTTTT idea EVER. They shuld make a game that has EVERYTHING... like i mean, its animal crossing but you can actually do stuff! I mean like take a LOTT of wii games and condense it down to fit in animal crossing!! Wouldn't that be so SWEET?????? you'd be like ur little animal crossing character shooting effing dragons in a varia suit!!! Sooooo rad! And like... they culd make a little more of a plot! like sumones bein a ** so u get mad and go away n then the train takes to someplace but it ends up being another wii game D: sooo rad! but they'd be like lame versions!!!! like if they put twilight princess, it's basically like you do an easy temple, find ganondorf n be like "why are you bein such a **?" n while he's going on about his long speech about world domination, you can push him off a ledge and BAMF :DDDDDDDD AAANNNNDDD thaey shuld make the animals rad!!!! like they can cuss n crap!!!! I wuld SOOO play!!!! wellll i laready play the otehr games, but thatd just make it radder! omg im drunk D;
