I just think it works so well , and personally i think you have to work harder to get a slashfic to work. Theres not enough slash in thwe cats section.

5/10/2009 #7 ReportI like Misto/Tugger and Misto/Munku. I don't really think that Tugger/Misto is overdone. I can't really find any good ones that I haven't already read. AND I am really mad at the author of Operation: Misto. They started it and HAVE NOT FINISHED IT!!!!!! I has been months, maybe a few years, and it is incomplete. If people are going to write a story, they should either finish it or take it down. Sorry for getting off topic, but I needed to say that. And, I don't think either of the two toms are OOC in the stories. At least, not in any I have read.
12/19/2009 #8 ReportI like MistoffeleesXTugger very much, but I do definitely agree with you that either Mistoffelees or both of them are almost always horribly out of character, which is horrible. However, there are a few very select fics where they're in character and written really well. I'm writing a couple of fics for them, in which I aim to keep them in character, though I always need concrit to make sure I'm not missing anything/making them too much of something. XD
I also really like PouncivalXTumblebrutus (though I dislike them both at points in the show - for Grizabella-related reasons), but I've only found a couple of fics with them in, and only one of those is good. Only found one picture of them as well. And one third of a Youtube Slash Mishmash vid, which is very well done. I'm currently making a video of them, and just uploaded a song meme with them.

Femslash is a bit fun too, but there's usually not many out there, and then if there are they're mostly concentrated around Bombalina (but I can see why, with that hot queen) but the mechanics of it don't add up at all.
I seem to see a lot of Rum Tum Tugger/Mistoffelees floating around in comparison to others. Does anyone particularly know why? Just curious. I don't have a problem with it (until an author characterizes Mistoffelees as being practically female... D: Then they've just wasted a perfectly good tom.) I'm just kind of curious.
I've read a couple of Pouncival/Tumblebrutus fics that are floating around lately that seem quite good, but dally in the softer tones of the relationship. I enjoy the youthful energy those fics have, especially when those two are portrayed as still being caught in the juvenile stage between kitten and full fledged tom where they don't really know how to release their wants.
I love Skimbleshanks especially, but he's rarely written about. It bothers me when he's written as a much older cat (like being paired up with Jellylorum or Jennyanydots) because he still seems rather youthful, although probably just a bit older than Mukustrap. I've seen one or two fics about Skimbleshanks/Tumblebrutus, and another on Skimbleshanks/Mistoffelees, and in my opinion they're both well written. The Erastes-Eromenos relation he would have is what draws me to it I believe...
I've seen some Coricopat/Macavity around too which is always good for a laugh.
I'm a little disappointed that there aren't more Alonzo/otherTom fics floating about though. He's always so flirty on stage and in the film production, but aside from being Munkustrap's right hand man I rarely see him strolling through any stories. Any recommendations? As I mentioned earlier, I like all pairings haha.

and Fem Slash I love as well! but my fave couples I hardly see, Victoria/Tanto, Victoria/Cassandra, Victoria/Rumpleteaer, and Deme/Bomba of course :D
I think Tugger/Mistoffelees is so popular for a lot of reasons, first they are both seen so much, so the first time you see the movie or play there is no way you would miss them. when you watch the movie for the first time you might not notice other characters like Pouncival/Tumble, since you don't really know them until the credits. so any fan is more likely to latch onto a character they are more familiar with.
supporting Mistoffelees and Tugger is easy. when dealing with a slash hater. Mistoffelees/Tugger is easy to defend, both Misto and Tugger's actors are gay, Tugger is known as the curious cat, when I hear that word I automatically think they are bi-curious, in real life and movies. Mistoffelees has the fashion style(Sparkles,loafers and rainbow ribbons) and attitude of someone I would suspect to be gay. not saying this means he is gay, but no reason to believe he isn't.
I think people like the idea of opposites attracting, they are easily labeled in a way most people agree with, Tugger the Seme Mistoffelees the Uke. they also have a lot of potential for Drama, considering Tugger's ways, and Mistoffelees magic. I also got the feeling Tugger knew Mistoffelees better then the others, since they were all surprised at the magicians tricks. Tugger seemed to stay calm most the time. they Also have a LOT of interactions.
Thats why i think people are so attached to them above the others xD
The Skimble age thing I think is triggers by the movie, He does look old in the movie, but is younger in live productions, Usually when i pair him with Mistoffelees the story line is largely based on the age difference and the dramas and hate that comes with it, so I do prefer him old.

D: Well, scratch that; I can't seem to find many fics with those two that isn't trying to explain in a hundred ways how they met. Perhaps they are mates, perhaps they're siblings, perhaps they're fraternal twins - but whhhyyyyy do we have to read a dozen times about their kittenhoods? They're both good looking cats why not use theeeemmmmm. /whine
Anyways. Thanks for the explanation, it makes a lot of sense now! And thanks for the fic recommendation, I'm going to scurry off and read that now. :D
2/21/2011 #13 ReportI like their colours together lol. I agree! I think Mungo and Rumple just arent very popular with the fans unfortonatly. (weird because female cosplayers ushually have Rumple suits, iv seen her made the most.) A friend of mine did a cute oneshot for Rumples Christmas but she got no reviews, witch is odd since she ushualy gets alot more. so im guessing it was just unintrest in Rumple. but it could have been the story -Shruggs-

2/21/2011 #14 ReportApparently in several live productions, when Mistoffolees says 'The Rum Tum Tugger is a terrible bore' Tugger turns around and kisses him, assumedly prove that he isn't. I think this might also contribute a little, but not as much as the RAINBOWS AND SPARKLES. XD

Haha it all makes sense now... I just saw my first live production a few nights ago and it was amazing! ....Except the Rum Tum Tugger was a bit disappointing. ): His hip thrusts were weak and his singing didn't have the right attitude. My friend (who's a seasoned Cats fan) proceeded to demonstrate real Tugger-worthy hip thrusts with me during intermission. XD We're pretty sure we got Deuteronomy to laugh a little at two well-dressed folk randomly thrusting at the air, making large hand movements explaining how to do it. XD
But I digress. In the show I watched, the actor for Mistoffelees is gay (his facebook page tells me so!) and although there wasn't any Tugger/Misto action going on in the production, I was seeing all sorts of other ones throughout the night though. During the mating dance Misto was in the psychics pile (with Coricopat noticeably enjoying himself hahaha) and during his character song I saw both Alonzo and Tumblebrutus slap him on the ass as he passed by. XD
At that point though, Alonzo and Tumble were slapping everyone on the ass hahaha... I love what the other cats get up to while others are singing. It's too bad that the film production makes it kind of hard to pay attention to that with the zoom and constant angle changes.
