This has been my pet peeve in many fandoms. But never before have I seen it quite that much as in this one.
As long as FFnet does not have a way to diverse between Slash Gen and Het in any other way than by summary search. All those *no slash* and "no *insert couple of choice*" really makes it hard to find the stories you are looking for.
A summary should say what the story IS not what it isn't.
NO SLASH (for those who apearantly don't know it=
No Slash because there is no relationship = GEN
No Slash because there is no Male/male relationship but there is a female/male one = HET
Now see. Isn't that easy? it even has less letters.
And now PLEASE PLEASE use those two if you write a summary to a story. Because it makes life for those that are actually looking for Slash stories a lot easier!!
Huh. I'd never really thought of it that way. :) *scurries off to change a summary of hers*
HET is short for heterosexual. An example of a het pairing would be Peter+Elizabeth. Het stories are usually heterosexual romances.
GEN is short for general. If a story is 'gen' it has no pairings/the romance isn't the point of the story.
Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I've just changed a few of my summaries. Thankyou. And you're right; it is simple ;)
