Character development: Shiloh

A jenwin23

So this isn't so much about who Shiloh is but what she brings to the story...which is a lot.

Shiloh and Veronica:

Veronica has so many unresolved issues with both Jake and Leanne and that's before Shiloh even enters the picture. Shiloh binds Veronica to Jake and Duncan for life.

Part of what I love about Shi being in the story is that she makes Veronica vulnerable and out of control. Her relationship with Shi is dependent on the goodwill of Jake, which V hates. Leanne is a separate issue for me from Jake, but that is a journey about acceptance and resignation. At some point with a bad parent you have to step back or cut ties or whatever analogy you want to use. Veronica will get there...but...I have a brother, an older one, but our relationship has also been that I'm older, and being "older" it's my job to protect him. A sibling relationship, someone innocent in V's (and Logan's) life, who is tied so directly to Lilly and their complicated history... I think I'm wandering in my thoughts, but my point is that while I have come to resolution on our less that ideal childhood, my brother is like a direct button to all my anger and hurt. I can't be around my brother and father together at all, cause my brother still wants that approval and love, and it's like being transported back in time. Because I love my brother, my need to protect him and empathy for his pain is unavoidable. Shi will be that for V, when you have that kind of absolute love for someone you hae no defense against them or what hurts them, you're just along for the ride- and v will experience that. She's all about control, and Logan and Shi will push that issue for her.

I love Shi

- she explain why Leanne disappeard for more than a year on season one

- she makes Veronica and Logan grow more

- she is cute as hell

And finally, I have a brother that is 13 years younger than me, so I can appreciate what's she bring in the story.
