Hey everybody. This is Highlord Langslock, future mega-writer and the next Mark Twain and T.R.R. Tolkien combined (hey I can dream, can't I?)! I am a hugefan of fantasy. While I have preferred the fantasy genre since day one, it was the first Harry Potter book than really got me going. I am currently studying to become a librarian, which is harder than it looks, and one of my goals in life is to become one of the most versatile authors who ever lived.
Here's a few things you might be interested in:
The Power of Five series
David Eddings' books
The Inheritance Cycle
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Favorite TV Series:
How to Train Your Dragon-greatest movie ever!!! I cant believe I have to wait two freaking years for the sequil!
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters-this is how the original story should have went! Screw what the critics say, they just have to make a francise out of this.
History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi-when you have a manga that favors somewhat realistic, true-to-life martial arts and still manages to portray the superhuman power we've all come to expect from an action manga, you know you've found something good.
Drifters-a high fantasy world manga with a sci-fi twist. If you love magic and intense action, and don't mind some brutally realistic warmaking, this is the manga for you.
Akame ga Kiru!-a truly epic high fantasy manga. But be warned, this manga pulls no punchs when it comes to how brutal and sick the bad guys really are.
Favorite Forgotten Realms characters:
Drizzt: he’s an elf, he’s a renegade from an evil race, he wields two magical swords, he’s a peace loving guy who enjoys a good fight, he kicks major ass, what’s not to love?
Cattie-brie: I like women who are strong without appearing real bitchy. I also love it when a woman can fight as good as any man.
Favorite Naruto characters:
Naruto: the ultimate underdog and the coolest guy in the series.
Sasuke: like countless others, I long to see see Sasuke redeemed and broughback to the Hidden Leaf Village. Alas, it seems like "Naruto" is no such fairy tale.
Hinata: she’s so cute!
Sakura: Girl kicks butt. I also like how she's developed since the series began.
Rock Lee: at first, I thought he was weird, but I still rooted for him. Then I read his story in the manga, and now I think he’s super cool.
Shikamaru: hmmm, it’s too troublesome to write anything.
Favorite Bleach characters:
Ichigo: good guy with a bad attitude, with some kickass power. Seriously, what's not to love?
Rukia: tough and loud; my kind of girl.
Chad: mighty in both body and heart. I'm starting to get annoyed with Tite Kubo for the way he seems to be downplaying him in the manga, as well as having him constantly lage behind Ichigo in power. Plus I've been browsing Bleach fan-fiction and was appalledto note how little attention he receives. If I ever get around to writing my own Bleach fanfic, I have some awsome ideas for new powers for him, as well as how he fits into the story.
Orihime: she may rank pretty low in the fighting department, but when the chips are down, she shows some real iron.
Byakuya: Everything about this guy screams "superiority-complex." The scary part is that he's got the power to back it up.
Aizen: this guy rules! Just when you think you have him cornered, you find out that you've been dancing right in the palm of his hand.
Kenpachi: FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! (I'm starting to think that bankai would just be overkill for this guy, but I still wanna see it!)
Mayuri Kurotsuchi: my old friend Alex said it best-this guy is one Soul Reaper you do not want to piss off. He is ruthless, unpredictable, and just too damn resourceful!
Favorite deviantART.com material:
Alice vs. ALICE-a series of comics which depicts Walt Disney's "sunshine and rainbows" Alice and American McGee's "doom and gloom" Alice as friends. It is somehow weird, cute, and funny all at the same time.
Things I like in fanfiction:
Well written and thought-out original characters that are not Mary Sues and fit in with the story the fanfiction is based on.
Fanfiction that is detailed and well written in the style of the original series and that appeal to my interests concerning that particular series.
Things I hate in fanfiction:
Character bashing: I don’t like the way it makes me feel all riled up and bloodthristy. Plus, in my experience, it usually targets characters that don’t really deserve it, like Kikyo. Sorry Kikyo haters, but while she can be rather easy to hate, and has some mean tendencies, she doesn’t deserve the negative image she’s been given in fanfiction. Besides, lets face it, she's pretty much been given a raw deal in life and she deserves a break.
Unwarrented gay and lesbian parings-I'm going to say right off the bat, I have nothing against gays or lesbians, and I am firmlyagainst gay-bashing. Nevertheless, as a heterosexual guy, I don't want to read about it. I mean, I reallydon't want to read about it; which is why it really pisses me off when I'm browsing for a good fanfiction in selections such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Psych, Warehouse 13, or Naruto, and all I find are a bunch of bleeping gay fics! What's wrong with these people?!
The warriorsorceress duo: It's hard to explain without sounding sexist, but I'll try. Men are traditionally associated with physical strength. An "ideal" man is usually depicted as strong and athletic. A man uses his strength to protect the woman he loves, his friends, and his family-the qualities of a noble warrior. Women are traditionally associated with spiritual strength. An "ideal" woman is usually dipected as beautiful and graceful. Since time immemorial, women in literature typically use their cunning and wits to defeat their enemies, qualities often associated with masters of sorcery. Put the mighty worrior and clever sorceress together, and not only do you have a formidible double-team, but a rather sexy couple as well.
Parings (both canon and personal) which, in my opinion, fulfill the WarriorSorceress duo include...
Now if only I could come up with one for my own stories. Most of my leading ladies tend to lean more towards the warrior-women type.
Classic Cowboy-the master of crossovers. I don't even see his works as fanfiction; they are closer to being their own stories. Now if he would only finish one of his works before starting a new one.
Favorite Naruto parings:
Naruto/Hinata-opposites attract! Plus, its just plain cute!
Sakura/Sasuke-see above, but replace "cute" with "sexy"
Lee/Tenten (originally, this was Neji/Tenten, but he's dead now)
Favorite Inuyasha pairings:
Inuyasha/Kagome-nothing else makes any sense!
Sesshomaru/Kagura-sorry Sess/Rin fans
Favoite Bleach pairings:
Ichigo/Rukia-haven't really thought about it much, actually, I just know that they go well together.
Orihime/Uryū-I know there's still a longways to go before this happens. Nevertheless, I still find this pairing appealing with a sort of "beauty-and-the-geek" charm, wouldn't you agree?
Favorite Avatar pairings:
Sokka/Suki (I also support Sokka/Yue, but she's the moon now)
Odd/Sissi-although I'm a little more open minded about them then I am about the previous two
Pairings I find acceptable:
Naruto/Sakura (I tend to avoid stories that pair Naruto with anyone but Hinata, but I believe that Sakura deserves Naruto now that she is treating him better. I also openly admit that they could make a good couple. I’m still holding out for Naruto/Hinata, however); Shikamaru/Ino (this is actually a good pairing, yet for some reason, Shika/Temari take the lead in my mind)
Pairings I hate (and I’m not using the word lightly):
Zuko/Katara-what is withthis paring! I believe that opposites attract, but it still has to be plausible. Seriously, I checked, and there are like twenty three pages on fanfiction.net full of Zuko/Katara romance stories, but I have yet to see a single shred of evidence in the series that even remotely suggests an attraction!
Kikyo/Inuyasha-I don’t hate Kikyo, but…ugh
Sesshomaru/Rin-I mean, the age difference is just atrocious!
Kikyo/Naraku-this pairing is nothing more than the pathetic, uncreative invention of Kikyo bashers trying force Kikyo into a bad light-boo!
Original Characters for upcoming fanfics:
Warren Lock: Warren is a fourteen year old witch (warlock!) of less then ideal height with reddish hair and green eyes. As a warlock, Warren is something of an oddity in the world. He is essentially a Normie (human), but he possesses special powers which should only be possible for Monsters. Thus, he is a sort of “in-between” being who is both Normie and Monster. Monsters who possess a superior sense of smell even say that his scent has characteristics of both. Raised in the orphanage he was abandoned at as a baby, with only a note revealing his name, Warren grew up not knowing what he was or why strange things kept happening around him, until the government discovered him. In him they saw the potential to improve relations between Normies and Monsters. To that end, they enrolled him into Monster High, the first and only integrated school for Monsters.
Undead Frontier Profiles:
Name: Jake Storm
Occupation: Police officer
Favored weapons: machine guns and melee

Years later, he became the youngest cadet to graduate frome the police academey with highest honors. Jake had a bright future ahead of him-until the outbreak occured three years later, and he was forced to watch helplessly as his parents and kid sister were slaughtered by the very first Wraith. Leaving his wife in the relative safety of Nastya's Holdout, Jake Storm ventured out in the dangerous depths of Fairview to become stronger and make his way to Fort Pastor territories in order to slaughter every Wraith in existance. Name: Kayla Storm
Favores weapons: melee and shotgun

Remember the Fallen
Tricking-I saw first saw this when I was looking for a "Let it Rock" video on YouTube, and I was mesmerized. It had to be one of the most amazing things I've seen since Sea World and the time I got a window seat in the plane when we traveled overseas. Now I want to learn more about this sport.
I recently completed on online game from ArmorGames.com called "Starwish". If you're into graphic, mindlessly violent online games, then you should pass this one over. Otherwise, it is an exciting, charming, and gripping space-shooter/visual novel and I highly recommend it.
