Now on to less important things...

I'm absolutely addicted to stories, stories that come in any form, size or shape, and I must admit I'm addicted to Fanfiction. I'm just drawn by all the what-ifs, and the exploration of the characters and their worlds. I love to read and write, and I hated math in school, and I was only interested in science for what it could bring to my stories.

One of my biggest problems with being a writer is that I have far too many stories whirling around in my head. Consequently, my stories often come out fragmented, and demented, which is problematic for sharing them with others. I've got all these great ideas, they're just so hard to pin down on paper.

There are a few things that bother me when it comes to reviewers of fanfiction. When they complain about how 'this isn't cannon' or 'that never happened,' I just want to say to them, "It's fanfiction! It's all about the 'what ifs' and 'why nots.' If you can't stand the fact that someone has changed the story, you've missed the whole point of fanfiction!" Now I'm not arguing against stories that stick to cannon, in fact, I've come accross many that are good, but really. Fanfiction was founded to explore the 'what ifs' that were left unanswered by the authors, or simply exploring the worlds through someone elses point of view.

Other than that, there really isn't much to me.

Although, I do have a pantheon of crossover gods.

And here is a short history of my encounters with the deities of the crossovers of fanfiction, and some of the demi-gods as well.

The first was Vathara, soon followed by esama. swabloo was added when I found Rider on the Storm, an Alex Rider/Sherlock crossover. AkitaFallow made it in with a CSI/Fullmetal Alchemist story. Frostfyre7 because of a Doctor Who/Firefly story, and the fact that they were able to make Star Wars and Sherlock Holmes fit together. Seriously. nonjon took the pantheon by storm with Browncoat Green Eyes, a melding of Harry Potter and Firefly so seamless it could be canon. It is my canon now. nuhuh gave us the wonderful, but slightly dark Retsu's Folly, an intriguing HP/Bleach story. romantiscue created Changeling, a delightful Harry Potter/Death Note crossover. LoliBat conjured the awe inspiring, darkly amusing HP/Death Note oneshot The Master of Death, then graced us with the amusing, and surprisingly believable HP/Ouran High School Host Club story, That Crazy Nut of a Teacher. PolarPanther brought us Against the Odds, a HP/Naruto story that really right be plausible. Wingwyrm brought the darkly hilarious Multicolour Post Its to life. Renatus created the heart-achingly beautiful The Girl With Red Hair, one of the best HP/Naruto crossovers ever to come into existence. dellacouer is responsible for the HP/X-Men crossover Harry Potter and the World that waits, and the Buffy/HP crossover It's All Relative on the Hellmouth. Deritine wrote the rib-crakingly hilarious Games of Kings, a Labyrinth/Yu-Gi-oh crossover. Don't laugh. I mean, don't discount it. Read it, and then laugh. Then came cywsaphyre, one of the most prominent and prolific writers in the Harry Potter/Avengers section, and whose story Finding Home has been adopted by the marvelous Locked Owle.

I've decided to do some blatant advertising for a few different things.

For those of you who love Rurouni Kenshin, and don't mind crossovers, then I would highly reccomend Blades of Blood and Witchy Woman by Vathara. Both are excellent stories if you can handle crossovers and AUs.

For Hikaru no Go, there is an excellent story by the name of A Heian Fairy Tale, in which Hikaru finally gets around to telling Akira the true story of Sai.

For things other than fanfiction, if you haven't read any of Brandon Sanderson's works, you are missing out on a whole lot. You should go read them. Now. He is an incredible writer, and should not be ignored.

For those who are interested, there is an awesome podcast by the name of Writing Excuses, which is all about writing. The podcasters are Brandon Sanderson, Howard Taylor, and Dan Wells, and recently Mary Robinette Kowal, all published authors who make a living off of their writing. I've found most of their advice very useful, and even when it isn't useful, it's at least funny. They discuss everything from the actual writing process to contacting agents and publishers, and marketing your work. They bring in authors, editors and other people entrenched in the writing business as guests for the podcast, and each 'episode' is around "15 minutes long, because you're in a hurry, and we're not that smart."
