I'm glad I finally found time to read this lovely story. You got into Mycroft's head perfectly. I loved how you juxtaposed the past with the present, too, showing where the brothers' habits of interaction had come from. Nicely done!
"Apparently of the three men in the room, Sherlock had been the one in control." Loved that line!

I absolutely enjoyed this. I have to agree with Sherlock, MyCroft was a rubbish big brother, though I still love the character.

A very logical plan - very Mycroft -y ... cold and logical. Great beginning!

interesting comparison. You seem to have captured the essence of their growing up rather well here. nicely done.
Definitely uncomfortable!

Some heartbreaking scenes depicted. Work well to convey the emotion.
"allowed him no compassion" - very telling. Taught himself how not to feel. and, mycroft was very quick to adapt to that standard unfortunately.

Nicely integrated piece with the background childhood memories and the present day reality. Makes Mycroft just a bit more human perhaps :)
"although slim, and not altogether as tall as people imagined," - cute. nice reference to season 3

Definitely have enjoyed it. You have some really nice lines throughout, as I've mentioned in previous comments. I felt the characterization was good, and the flashbacks interesting.
However, I'd suggest you get a beta-reader on board to help you with checking grammar, mainly your usage of commas. There are a lot of places where they're missing like compound sentences, or after opening clauses, etc.
Are you done with this story or is there more to come? Your A/N sounds like it's complete, but it isn't marked as such...

Loved this part: "The cold was affecting his sinuses, and, judging by the odour, the interrogator didn't appear to be acquainted with washing." Also love how he assumes it's food poisoning rather than the experience of watching his younger brother being beaten.
Mycroft's flashback to boarding school days was interesting and informative.

I always love Holmes brother stories but this is the best one I've found about the Serbian interrogations.

Wow-such great insight! I was admittedly never very interested in Mycroft's character (not when you have the fabulously layered Sherlock Holmes to fill up the screen!) but this last season has got me really really intrigued. Especially this season because we've seen how Mycroft *really* sees Sherlock. Mycroft can be a fascinating person and I love how you've expanded him here. Lovely, lovely. Can't wait for the next chapter! :)
