I like how you wrote this. I'm sort of in a mind-tightening, fan-mode right now. HtTYD is honestly one of my favs. (Along with RotG.) I have way too many Fandoms right now. And I want to write fanfictions for them all, but ehh.

This is very good, and mostly in-character, with nice character interactions as well, but it's also a bit random. It's good as a meant mostly as a relatively short one-shot with a just a bit of the regular slice-of-life view of a small problem the riders encounter (rather than the epic adventures they go through every week).
However, if (and only if) you wanted to, I think you could also have expanded this a bit to include a more dramatic conflict resolution or some character interaction.
But that's really all dependent on what type of stories you want to write.
