Love the opening. XD Calvin is, indeed, a difficult child. I can't imagine raising him myself.

Well that lady was rude. Love Calvin's father's unshakable statement! (Honestly I love the 'give him back to the stork' joke, too. XD)

I can totally see him playing tic-tac-toe. :P Really cool to see him take an interest in class! I felt so bad for him when Susie made that joke. It actually made me feel a bit anxious - like Calvin biting his nails on the way home.

Oh my goodness! I'm actually tearing up!
This is SO well written! It's so emotional! From his bedtime conversation with Hobbes, to the fact that he's heavily bullied at school and hurt so often, to Hobbes trying to cheer him up by saying Calvin adopted him, and to his teacher accidentally making him cry in class... You made me FEEL for him so much!
I /really/ felt bad for him when Susie brought it up again on the playground. I mean... I know Calvin's no angel, and kids are kids, but she seemed so insensitive.
But it was the final scene with his parents that really broke me. Calvin bursting into tears, his father catching him, the whole story coming out, and his father carrying him to the living room... aw man, it's all SO WELL WRITTEN.
I love how you made it so his parents' blond hair turned dark. The same happened to the kids in my mom's family, and the same might be happening to me. :)
His dad making him giggle by wiggling his jaw! That's so cute! :3
SUCH a good story. His parents were so /frustrated/ with Calvin most of the time in the comics, but every once in a while we'd get a strip of with family bonding and it was always the best thing. This story is just like that. It's precious; beautiful.
You definitely write the best Calvin and Hobbes fanfics I've ever read. This one is no different. I adored reading it. :)

I was really moved by reading this. It's quite nice to see a story that reminds us that Calvin and his parents DO, in fact, love each other and act like a family. _

LOL! And *sniff*. That's so sweet! I love your writing style and the way you bring the characters to life. A job well done!

This is excellent. Very heartwarming, well-written, and well thought out.

You know, it's kinda funny that one of the only stories that actually make the parents complicated and realistic characters is the one about adoption. Brilliant story.

Poor Calvin... glad he got that all fixed up. D

That was a really sweet story and beautifully written. It really brought out the more...I don't know, 'loving' side of Calvin and his parents' relationship (not that it isn't there in the comics, but it's rarely portrayed in a very serious light) so it was nice to see that here whilst keeping them all in character. Good job :)

What a sweet story! I guess the teacher didn't explain enough about recessive genes. I remember learning about that, but it wasn't until 8th grade. I've just now been able to get to this, since I've been getting everything finished for this term. Term 4 begins in a couple of weeks. :)

This is adorable. I think it's perfectly natural that as he gets older, Calvin would start to reflect on the differences between himself and everyone else around him. Poor Calvin. Your writing made it come alive. :)

Oh my goodness!

First of all, if I haven't already told you, I absolutely love family stories. My parents are both extremely important to me, so getting to read a story in which Calvin's parents are standing up for him really touches my heart!

I love the direction that you went with this. I didn't even think about adoption when I mentioned genetics, so I was very intrigued. My own parents also had the ash-blond thing going on, and several of my siblings display recessive genes, so this was really interesting to see in the story.

It's awful to say, but I really like how insensitive Susie is in this. She's so mean, and it probably comes from hanging out with Calvin. It's really impressive how you manage to make him a victim, and still a bit surly anyway. Great job.

I am very honored to have read this. Thank you for writing such wonderful stories, they really mean a lot to me!

With admiration and respect,

-Fahiru

Ooh! That was really good! I started giggling when the teacher thought he did it wrong though. Stupid teacher. I loved it, loved the concept, loved the way the characters acted. It seemed realistic.
