For Ryuk, you can annoy him to near-death by simply refusing him apples. I don't think he'd care about anything BUT not having apples. I doubt he cares about Light's sexuality, or whether Rem is in love with him, or random screams, or a love letter. Unless said love letter is from a really pretty, juicy, apple.
