What is up with this irrational anger that only seams to be escalated at the smallest thing, it causes the story not to progress like at all...

A lot of stuff is happening but there is no substance to what is happening or meaning behind it, what I mean by that we're told x y or z happens but all explanations are only there to give a superficial justification on why 'it' happens - Not expanding the world or the lore, it doesn't add anything to the story and if it were cut it owuld improve the story because of it.
Now the ideas of some of the stuff like Hobbits having a secret society of protectors is interesting buuut it doesn't make sense as to why they need such secrecy (I assume its something to do with the old forest).
Or what about the old forest itself which is a really cool idea, some primordial place of nature but nothing has been done with that idea and anything tangentially related to it i.e the house has been portrayed in a childish, silly light instead of a more mystical abstract thing

Can you please continue this? I like the sentient Bag’s End and everything being slightly more magical than it was. I love how Bilbo had to assure Bag’s End that Gandalf isn’t going to harm it. I just love all these little cozy factors.
