Very enjoyable. Good situation, not overplayed, and good feel for the characters. I only know the basic concepts for Dr. Who, but you gave enough clues that I count keep up anyway, and without them being obvious and preachy, which I hate.

Looking forward to some more here - sounds as though both Vin and Ezra have stories coming. Evidently each of them did not already already know the other was acquainted with the Dr. and were just now realizing they had this in common?

Loved Ezra's tangled syntax at the end. Overall, I think you got his speech patterns just right - so very many authors can't resist the temptation to pile it on too thick.

Hope this is just the first chapter in a much longer work.
