This is amazing. You've managed to find just the right balance of action and dialogue and Daryl's inner thoughts. Nothing about this feels rushed, but it still feels like it'smmoving along at a good pace.
For me, Daryl's thoughts on Beth and the position in his life she holds seem just about exactly right. I also loved what you did when he first heard Carol's name.
The little bit at the end - thinking he heard a baby's cry...so good!

Great story! Very suspenseful! Excellent writing. I like how your wrote Daryl view of Beth as a sister. I still do not see how anyone got romance from those episodes. I like your take on this story though I don't care what happens to Beth. I have never liked her character.
