I can understand Luffy not wanting to show off too much of his strength in front Marines so that they don’t get hounded by super strong people but sometimes he keeps things like in canon for no reason. Take for example when he fell in Laboon’s stomach with Vivi and Igaram. Why didn’t he Geppo onto the ship? Another example: why did he let Sanji kick him and destroy the log pose ?
I get not wanting to cause too many ripples if you’re a time traveler but sometimes it just feels like laziness. The examples I speak about are small but they just make me think ‘why? What’s the point?’
