I wonder if they actually forgot the charm or if like condoms, the spell just isn’t 100% at preventing pregnancies.
Also I understand Jean’s reaction but Hermione getting pregnant at 17 in Hogwarts isn’t the most shocking thing in the world. Plenty of muggles would have been and still were teen moms during the 90s. Hogwarts isn’t run any differently than any other public, boarding and even non-boarding school.

this is such a good story and I can honestly say that it seems accurate to Canon in the way the characters acted well the rest of the school might not have been that bad I think given several examples from the books you could definitely say that Ron and Harry would act just the same as they did in this story from Ron being jealous and upset that the baby wasn't his to Harry not wanting to upset his best friend and girlfriend Harry almost always takes Ron side
