Yes this is lovely. The modern references to the FA and Ryan Giggs were great and the Welsh characters well chosen. My son's position of choice is goalkeeper so I will get him to read this as well :) I think he'll love it and I shall tell the tale to anyone who wishes to know why we have goal keepers in football.
I really loved your description of early football games - five a side as we still play today or mass games where anyone can join in. I could picture it all, the way you've told it.
