Petri dish for ash tray - perfect!
Great incorporation of lines from TV series.
The thought was like a sudden glimmer of light through the parted mist, and as a drowning man clutches at a root on the riverbank,
Moriarty's hissed challenge into Mary's ear seems rather quite like him. Makes sense. A bit of CAM in him, it seems.
Will there be more? Seems you have rather left Sherlock staring wide eyed and shocked.
Smiled at the last lines of this chapter. "No, I mean, I'm really glad you're here... he looked terrified." LOL! Great job *applause*

Nice dialogue b/t Mycroft and Sherlock. Quite in-character. Well done.
New life... can certainly see how it would aggravate Moriarty. Interesting how he is intoxicated by blood too.
Curious to see what's in white box.

You seem to write the voice of Moriarty quite well. I'm impressed. Slimy and creepy but still with a mad brilliance in his observations.
"he picked up the second cigarette from the table and lit it vehemently, smoking it to within an inch of its life." Great use of words here. Describing how Sherlock's smokes to convey an emotion.
"Scars are fascinating", he said, musing. "You're obviously a collector." Ironic and also a truism as each scar does have a story.

You've intrigued my curiosity with your title and interesting choice of "props" in this beginning chapter. I like the parallels between Sherlock and Moriarty... the cigarettes and the needle/razor blade. Clever!
