Not bad, and certainly interesting, but if you don't mind a little criticism, there is one spot in which this story drops the ball.
And that's showing an out-of-character, nasty piece of work, blatantly cat hating and felicide loving version of Doppler.
The fact that Amelia is my favorite character, plus they are so close to each other and their children following when he lent her a helping hand in the film only adds to this.
So, I do look forward to further chapters, whenever you write them, but I just wanted to point out what I just did for a bit of necessary critique.
