Well, shit has hit the fan and it's firmly Inquisitor's area of specialty now. Really looking forward to seeing how this goes down and what the aftermath looks like. Also, just want to say how much I've enjoyed this story, you're doing an amazing job writing it and I hope to see more chapters soon!

I hate making villains buffoons and strawmen, if not lovable or sympathetic at least in cause, even if horrible they should still be impressive

One thing that irks me about both this and death korps of justice was how quickly the MCs of both acquiesced to the belief they are on the past version of Terra, Dante especially, since The Imperium has encountered numerous worlds that claimed and believed to be the real Earth(do to humanity during the dark/golden age of technology regularly terraforming entire star systems into being exact replicas of the Sol System for various reasons ranging from 'start from zero' scenario experiments to just doing it for a lark), and being a member of The Inquisition, even as an apprentice, he should be at least have some knowledge on the topic.
Though i am no 40k lore master, so it may be new lore that wasn't out during the writing of this(and the original version in DKoJ) so idk, either way it just felt to fast for him to comply to it

An additional missed tactic, he didn't tell Waller to scramble air support and start rotating them flying a containment like circle at the outskirts of the city, like the Broken Arrow scene in 'We Were Soldiers'. Stack and rotate in bombing runs to crush any attempts to breach quarantine. Move any naval ships to a position to provide artillery bombardment as needed. The Inquisitor wouldn't stop at sending a handful disposable assets to a freaking Warp Tear on Holy Terra, even if he thought it was the first option, he'd be telling Waller to ready air and naval support.

As soon as Waller said she had some redundant assets at hand that she could throw into the fight against Chaos on the front lines, I knew what that meant. The Suicide Squad is back in action. Incidentally, I wonder if they'll join forces with the Inquisitor one day. When you think about it, the Imperium has no problem recruiting entire criminal gangs into its armed forces (many Guards can trace their beginnings back to humble street gangs on some hive planet). And the Inquisition has even less of a problem recruiting entire hordes of mercenaries, hitmen, or gangsters to help it, as long as their actions bring tangible benefits to the Imperium. The relationship between the two sides is sure to be interesting.
