Oh darling thank you for this heartbreakingly beautiful update! I can't tell you how much I love Grantaire's character development here- the way you write him trying to get Combeferre to see reason is really well done and oh Enjolras! Wonderful physiological development again and as much as I love the friendship between C E, I know how much Enjolras needs to stand on his own two feet- it's terrifying, but it needs to be done- poor thing.
Much love, please keep going and update when you can! (says the writer who hasn't written anything for ever- damn you uni exams!)

Aww poor Combeferre. I really loved how you portrayed him in the last bit even if the timing of his realisation is unfortunate. I also think Grantaire reacts poorly to it, but it's understandable because of the situation. But in the long term I hope Ferre gets some more understanding from his friends.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this lovely, heartbreaking update my dear! It's great to see you continuing this and such a treat for me to come back to after a long, tiring day of uni, rehearsals and voluntary work!
Oh Enjolras… Will this ever pass? The way you write the Amis' desperate attempts to bring him out of his shell are just heartbreaking and so well done as was the panic attack- I especially liked seeing Grantaire taking control of the situation for once- you really did that moment justice and I applaud you for it- well done!
Much love, please keep going, believe in yourself and update when you can!

This story is getting better each chapter! I thought it was really good how we got to look in Enjolras' head in the beginning and then in Combeferre's. I think you really showed us what strain there was on their relationship. With Combeferre who wants to be there for Enjolras, but at the same time mourns the friend he has lost. And I liked your Grantaire in this bit. He seemed really responsible and mature. Now I'm not sure if that's in character, but I liked it. Looking forward to the next!

You have to continue writing this. 3 This is absolutely amazing. My friend introduced me to this story about a week ago, and I love it. It's amazing :)

I just started reading this last week and read all 8 chapters since then. I was a little wary when I started reading this even if I know your background because the topic is still sensitive and I just really dislike it when people don't show of the scars of the period well. But that's something you did really well. You don't let Enjolras make big steps quickly or anything which I really like.
I also really liked that in the beginning of the story the relationship between Enjolras and Combeferre seemed really intimate in a nice way. It really fitted that part.
I think for all the chapters that I've read so far the only real criticism that I can give you is to maybe look at Combeferre's role a little more. Like he's mostly in this story worrying about Enjolras and that's really something I get but the war must've effected him too and even now he's, in a certain way, lost his best friend. And though he can get why that is, and he understands and he cares... his person to lean on is really changed and isn't someone he can lean on any more. I think right now the story focusses just a little bit too little on that and a little too much on the caring side of his character.

Oh my dear, this was glorious! Combeferre's concern over the whole situation is just beautifully placed and oh Enjolras... as much as I love how well you've written his desperate attempts to hide away from everything, it does hurt an awful lot to read but well done so far- you've come such a long way with this and it's glorious to see your talent and knowledge of this subject come through.
Another stunning chapter my dear and I really hope you continue with this story, it's wonderful and heartbreaking and I cannot wait to hear more!
Much love,

What a wonderful chapter yet again. Gosh, this story has really captured me in a way that no other story has before. It is so different and yet so incredibly real and believable. I can't believe that out of all your multichap stories, this is the one that is least followed. In my opinion, it is your best because it gives us a glimpse into the lives of people who have suffered greatly, a suffering that should never be forgotten. And you write it in such a respectful, believable way that I'm almost forgetting that I'm reading fanfiction. I like that you gave us another chapter from Combeferre's perspectives. Hearin the story both from him and from Enjolras really gives the reader an extra view of how disconnected the two really are and how different their lives are now. Please don't lose faith for this story just because people don't take the time to read something original, something different. This work of yours matters and it's important that it exists. I'm forever in awe for the way you manage to write down the emotions of these characters, how you manage to bring them to life. A wonderful job, my darling. Stay confident and continue this. It is worth it and it see the appreciation in deserves in time. Thank you!

GAH- THE FEEEEEEELSSS! I'm pretty site that sweet little girl embodied the thoughts of all the readers.(He just needs a hug, the poor baby...) Her mother was wicked, though. Cosette was absolutely perfect- she's not really one of my favourite characters, but you write her in such a lovely way! Please update soon!

Oh my goodness my heart. Honey, this one killed me. The Cosette and Enj's thoughts and the adorable little girl... This was far too perfect. Thank you for this chapter. There are no adequate words. This was flawless.
Stay revolutionary!

My gosh, this is heartbreaking. I think this is a great example of why Les Mis characters often work well in other historical or even future setting AUs; such an important theme in the story is how cruel and ignorant people can be to others who have already suffered unspeakably, and sadly, examples of that kind of cruelty continue to be found in every generation. And sadly, its so poignant to see an illustration of how the kind instincts of children are often squashed by parents. I do love the inclusion of Cosette. I feel like this story has great potential for building a close friendship arc between her and Enjolras (it sounds like you are keeping her back-story rather consistent to the original story, just transplanted into the 20th century), because she's a person who knows about happiness after suffering. I'm really enjoying (maybe not a good word, but you know what I mean) the way this story is unfolding and I'm eager to see its continued progression. Very well done.

Do you even understand how close I am to tears? Do you? Oh darling, this was wonderful and so heartfelt- especially the moment between Enjolras and the little girl- the feeling of such innocence in contrast to the horrors he's experienced and the lack of understanding from her mother was wonderfully conveyed and the quiet moment between Cosette and and Enjolras was beautifully done, almost as if there's hope that he may be able to find himself again.
Another beautiful chapter as always my dear and please stay strong- you know I'm always here and now on Tumblr if you need me.
Much love and update when you can,
