This was heart breaking, especially that little piece of insight you gave us at the end. Although it is sad and harrowing and quite hard to read at times (I mean that in a good way!) this is possibly one of my favourite stories of yours. Keep going, tell this story. It has a very special message to tell. Well done.

Very good chapter! I found the bit you wrote about the eating very interesting. It's true that inmates lived on five hundred calories, sometimes even less. Especially in the destruction camps like Auschwitz. Please update soon! I am very curious to see how Enjolras and the Amis will respond to Gavroche. Please update when you can!

This chapter was really, really good. I think it's nice the way that you show us a little more of Enjolras' time in the camps even though it is still very distant. I read the other reviews and I do think it might be interesting to do a chapter from Enjolras' point of view or a flashback, though I can understand if you wouldn't want to try that, since the sensitivity of the subject. Anyway, great job on this one. I do believe this is your best story so far. Please keep going with it and believe in your own talents :)

Oh gosh, is there no limit to your wonderfulness? I really felt like I was in the apartment with them and I could feel Combeferre's desperation and Enjolras's fear and disconnection. Keep this up!

I like this chapter. I think having Gavroche be the one to accidentally say the wrong thing makes good sense. He means well, but he's a just a kid so he definitely would be oblivious to why that would set Enjolras off. This way too we get some insight into what happened to Enjolras without him deliberately telling. I agree that it would be a real narrative cheat for him to just tell the story because it's so unlikely that someone would be able to do that. Maybe a way you could show the reader with a flashback chapter or two (depending on how in depth you want to go? Or perhaps just a chapter that has more emphasis on Enjolras himself and his thoughts, since it seems like we're mostly getting the story from Combeferre so far, and Combeferre just doesn't have access to that information. Just some ideas; I'm sure you'll come up with something good. I think this story has continued to be really good and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

Oh Enjolras! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this lovely update my friend! My heart broke during the Gavroche/Enjolras exchange- the emotional agony he is feeling under the icy composure is breathtakingly tangible and the facade he puts on in front of his friends which only Combeferre can see past is devastating- I do hope he manages to open up to them all soon but you're also so very, very right about him not talking about the horrors of the prison camps- sometimes it's the things that are left unsaid and unanswered which are the most intriguing and I look forward to seeing your take on it.
Another brilliant chapter as ever my dearest friend and I can't wait to see where you take this!

I'm sorry for my lack of reviews. I've been away for a while. Anyway, all I can really say about this is that it continues to amaze me. You have some brilliant writer skills and I think it's wonderful that you try them out on a subject like this. Like many have said before me, this is an important subject and it should not be forgotten. So it's a good thing that you try to contribute to this awareness by writing about it using characters that you love. This chapter was heartbreaking and I really liked what Combeferre said to Enjolras. I agree with him, things will never be the same again. But things can be different. Enjolras needs to learn how to live a different life and the Amis will have to do the same, because their lives have changed just as much with having their once proud and fierce leader returned to them broken and traumatized. Ver good job. Please continue with this :)

Another wonderful chapter from you, mon amie! I know that Enjolras and Combeferre are still going to be apart for a long time and they're still in a very dark place. I was watching a list of Top 10 Holocaust Films on YouTube just now (Schindler's List at the top - surprise surprise) and it just hit me so hard I just want to break down and cry, because this combined with that just made me realise what an atrocity the Holocaust truly was. No film, book, or story will ever be able to absolutely capture the exact horrors of humanity's biggest folly, even the very best ones, but I believe it is till important to realise it. I hope you continue!

I honestly don't think I have words enough to express how wonderful this emotional epoch of a story is turning out to be and how well you're dealing with this subject. It's all too easy to over dramatise hurt/comfort between Enjolras and Combeferre and I think the whole fandom's aware of that; but the clear, quiet way you've let Enjolras draw into his the affections of his oldest friend is simply stunning and very, very moving- especially the final image- absolutely breathtaking writing my friend!
I can't wait to see where you go with this and how you bring the others into this, the most intimate of recoveries. Please keep going, believe in yourself and update soon!

This chapter very nearly made me cry, especially as Audiomachine's song 'Turning Point' came on on my playlist. I really do suggest that you listen to this and look back over the chapter, because it complements your amazing writing beautifully and brings the chapter a new emotional height.
Well done on this sensitively written and perfectly handled chapter, mon ami. Well done.
