Brilliant one-shot. I think you capture the spirit of soldiers having to leave their families behind very well. Especially the heartache of combeferre's mother, very well done. These world war pieces of you really get my attention and I find them beautiful to read but also useful, because you give us a glimpse into the period of that time. And not just the factual stuff that you can find in history books, but the social dynamics and the emotions behind decisions like these. Well done!
