I almost feel guilty to admit this, but your authors note left me with more thoughts than the piece you wrote. I wanted to ask if you are okay now. I have been clinically depressed for two years now and I completely agree with your sentiments on the awareness of mental health in the UK. Due to pre conceived notions about depression, many people were critical of my state and claimed that I was being an 'over-dramatic teen'. I had been diagnosed for nearly 4 months when anyone other than my GP took me seriously and even then the casual disregard for my condition has astounded me. I am currently doing a piece on the issue and I wonder if I could use your story as an example to illustrate my point. Thank you, MPIAM
