I've thought about this a lot. I mean, it's pretty crazy that the Face of Boe knew who the Doctor was the whole time, but only chose to warm him about the Master. Like, how did he decide what to say to the Doctor? So I like your explanation, that he was encouraging and warning the Doctor. Lots of feeeeelssssss~

This could hardly have been any better. I really felt torn when I discovered who The Face of Boe was, and his sad, final good-bye seemed so empty, in a way. Flighty, flirty Jack Harkness ended as a disembodied, but wise old head in a jar. How ironic.
