Sounds like you cleared out your own parents home. A very painful process, so many memories, so many emotions. Our own personal history.
I still haven't read a lot of your stories and I didn't realize that in one of your AUs, Kate and Leroy were together. Good story, but sad. Makes me remember dealing with my parents home.

So sweet but sad at the same time. Gibbs having to do the hardest task in a child's life, pack up and discard his parent's belongings. There's something so final in having to do that task. You no longer can fool yourself that they are still around. His memories are mostly good ones and that helps with the long days ahead.
