Good story so far. I have an idea for a new story for you. A young nightfury living on nightfury island with everyone else. His sister is always besting him and his brother(aka toothless) has disappeared a while back. His sister has become the prince of nightfuries mate and his parents want him to find one, too. The thing is, the only ones he is alowed to date are the prissy children of the upper-class like his family. He hates them all and has only one friend, a lower-class, named Eclipse. She is always funny and pokey and sometimes pervertive, but he likes her. When his family plan to have him be a mate to the most popular and prissiest of them all, he runs. The Elite guard are sent to bring him back resulting in a vicious fight and a run in with Toothless, the Alpha, the leave the badly ingured fury lying on the beach. Toothless brings him back to Berk, only causing him to tell his story. Eclipse is heartbroken that he left. He is secretly planning to return to get her. What do you think? Like it? So Cloudjumper's mother named him? How did Valka learn the name then? Interesting if overtly saccharine start.
"He's such a complex character"
Complex? Really? He's a random dragon that abducts Valka for unknown and unelaborated reasons, but beyond that he just seems like a 2D catalyst for Valka's (equally shallow) character development. I think he could have been an interesting dragon with a backstory, so this is a totally understandable fic, but in canon he's no more interesting than, say, Gothi. But that's just my opinion.

Awe! Baby Cloudjumper is so cute. What about his father? Please update again soon! I'm really glad you're writing this. There aren't many stories with Cloudjumper in them as the main character.
