Love the closing thoughts in this piece.
One thing that's always bothered me about the show is how easily they continuously wrote Sara out of Neal's life - Cape Verde, London... Bye! (Sara, who?) For someone who so fiercely pined over Kate in the first seasons, I find it hard to believe Neal would then so blatantly dismiss his relationship with Sara - twice! It's as if they stripped his character down to nothing more than his shiny debonair outside, because who needs feelings when you're gorgeous? His flawed pursuit of love is literally what drove the entire premise of the show, and other than the proposal scene, Neal has never felt as genuine to me since he left for Cape Verde.
P.S. The expression is "amis amants" (meaning "friends who are lovers", in French)!
