Oh, I could cry. I just finished the book and this feel like a perfectly-written dessert after the main, heartbreaking course. This was wonderful and I loved it and thank you, so, so much for writing it!

I wasn't sure of what I thought of the TDOTL ending... Darquesse was my favourite character... How I wanted it to end was like where Val and Darq became truly one being. A colder, darker less compassionate and scrupulous Val with Darquesse's power (and who self identifies as Darquesse of course) but doesn't destroy the world so people are basically OK about it. I wonder what her Mum and Dad would have thought of that!
although...I felt nothing when Stephanie died; I never liked her much.
