I wonder if we're gonna see Orochimaru creating Shin Uchiha, since his inner monologue regarding the newfound difficulties and potential thwarting of his ambitions with Sasuke does seem to hint to it.

Rereading.
Lee's thoughts about stealth sounded kinda like excuses to me.
That Hyōmengakure no Jutsu (Hiding in the Surface Jutsu) sounds like one of those jutsu where you need a certain level of precise chakra control.
Control that Naruko probably lacks, yet her stealth skills are still good enough that she can hide from ANBU, despite having a chakra footprint the size of the Hokage Mountain. Hell, she probably has more chakra in her extremities than Lee does in his entire body.
So if she can pull it off, than he has no excuses beyond how it's offensive to his mindset. And that's not a valid reason for a Shinobi.

all the arbitrarily-included japanese is annoying and pointless, having to figure out what it means because who can remember all that. there are too many situations that are just senselessly convenient. things get explained that dont need to be. this story had potential, but then you crapped all over that potential.

Bs that hiruzen didnt go interfere. I find that part of canon BS just to try to make sasuke more important and the true MC of Naruto. No reason for Konoha not to go in when a missing nin has interfered in the exam
