Wow, Artemis! That was unexpected! I never would have imagined Hermione to fall into a miasma so deep that she contemplated, much less attempted taking her own life. The revelation of the wands reaction and the result were pretty intense, too. The fact that it was Snape who helped her find some peace and purpose (in wiered and unpleasant ways) was also a revelation. Your writing and story telling skills are top notch. Keep the creativity flowing!

The idea of needing to feel something, anything, and then to find that. This story hurts my heart in the right places, hurts my head in the right places, because YES! Snape's words to her when he says "Your own wand cannot take your life..." is such an amazing way to describe what was happening to her in those moments. I loved that, despite the sadness of her feeling so empty.
