cath: SAM is just ambitious. The other stuff comes from LUCIFER. Lucifer does belong in Slytherin. Sam is def a Ravenclaw at heart, just like Dean would be a Gryffindor (maybe not Deanmon though). Crowley, as an example, is the PERFECT Slytherin. Ambitious, cunning, not necessarily evil, always looking out for number 1, etc, just like Lucifer and other demons. If I went that route, I was planning on having the Hat see Lucifer's 'soul' and his cunning/selfishness as well as the effects of Azazel's blood, and the only real Slytherin trait he'd get out of Sam would be ambition. Sam is definitely not self-serving, he CAN be cunning, but indeed most of his plans are LEEEROYYY JENKKKKINSS! Not near as bad as Dean, but when Dean is in trouble, Sam is Leeroy.

Technically Slyterin is a house for the cunning, ambitious and pure-blooded. Sam does come from an old wizarding family, but in the series most of his plans are either rather staright-laced or from the insane end of the spectrum and even when he seeks power it's not for the sake of gaining autority, so I don't think he would make a good Slytherin. Slytherin shouldn't be the house of all evil in my opinion. Ravenclaw is a better option since Sam often seeks knowledge for its own sake. As Dean once put it he's a walking encyclopedia of the weird, so I think he would fit just fine in Ravenclaw.

This was fricking amazing. I loved it. Most of these stories focus on dean/cas; and it's great to have found one that doesn't. Not that I have anything against the ship; it's just getting old.
