I was grinning so much while reading this... oh man, it's so adorable. BABY FÍLI IS WHAT I LIVE FOR. And I love your Jóli I need all of it... so many cute and adorable parts in here—I love when Fíli thinks that he gets to spend the day with his mum because Jóli says "favourite parent," and Fíli's confusion at the color of leaves... This chapter. THIS CHAPTER. ok, so brief back story: my parents like to tell the story of when i was a little kid, about two or three, and I thought my dad stayed up all night to guard the house from bears. As you do. Because I never actually saw my parents getting ready for bed, I thought that when you were grown up you didn't have to sleep, so parents guarded their kids from bears and wolves (never mind that we lived in suburban Indiana and that no bear of any sense would come within ten miles of our house). Once, when my dad had to leave for a couple of days on a business trip, i was nearly hysterical - who would guard the house from bears while he was away? My parents had to assure me that grown ups did, in fact, sleep at night, and that no bears were coming to eat me. Anyways. This chapter reminded me of that little epoch in my life and it makes me so happy and nostalgic that I felt i needed to share this with you. Your chapters with this story are absolutely lovely!

You write such lovely stories for Fili (and Kili too - 'Wa' and 'Gump' is so delightful!) It's always interesting to get a glimpse into the home life of our dwarves. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Oh, this is gorgeous. Such a precious moment. So significant, going out into the wider world, but still protected by his parents. Wonderful!
Kíli made me laugh - Wa and Gump. He is ever the charmer! And his disfigured stuffed animals, hehe, they reminded me of my cow Moo!
Jóli sounds like such a fun father even if he does work a lot. Can certainly tell where the boys get their humour from!

Thanks so much for writing this oh my god this is just soo perfect I just love EVERYTHING about it, the idea of the bear, the writing, the feelings, aww That sounds just like a Fili thing to do and I loove how he's pleased with himself! I adore the idea of Dis encouraging them to keep pulling their pranks too! It's so adorable. _
Of course Dwalin was going to be the bear! :p Who else? He's just the perfect bear. As I said I just love everything about this, and how well it's written so that we can perfectly see it in our minds! And yeah Fili, of course you're very brave lovely fluffy adorable you aw
Poor Thorin, absolutely confused about what happened and then... haha! I grinned very hard (well I was grinning all along in fact) when he didn't hesitate to stab Dwalin, I can just imagine him taking all the pleasure in the world and going like " :} " haha!
And the end was priceless as well, everything "bursting" as everyone finds themselves at the same place errupting into tears or shouts from everywhere XD That's just so perfect!

Awwww hssshh that was just too sweet! I love how dramatic Fili is haha, that makes Dwalin's bread seem sooo dangerous XD Which IS dangerous, in fact. That's a great big bro to shelter Kili from such a great evil! Aah I really like your writing soo much

OH MY GOD THIS IS SO PRECIOUS *trips over self* THIS IS SO CUTE OH HELP ME LORD. Such a brotherly thing to do, trying to scare Kíli... and yet instead he frightens himself! I'm grinning so hard right now, seriously. I love the little bravery there, trying to be like Thorin... but then scampering off to him when he was too afraid MAHAL HELP ME gosh this is too cute. So accurate to how a child would act, too. And then Thorin doesn't even hesitate to stab Dwalin with a wooden sword either... I'm laughing just thinking about it omg. That's totally the kind of relationship they have.
Seriously, what I love about this, though, is how /real/ it is. I can totally picture this happening, and I lovelovelove the family-ness of it. Just a precious little moment that totally could happen and I can't get over how much I love this AWW REALLY I JUST LOVE THIS A LOT.
