Cannot say enough good about this, but I'm damn well going to try. :D
I LOVED how you gave each of his Pokemon a back story, and their own unique personalities. Also, the way that you coordinated the battles against their Pokemon was simply ingenious! I especially liked Root and Thinker. I loved the "fated partner" thing you had going for him and his starter, and Thinker's telepathy conversation with Lucas was hilarious! I can't wait for the next chapter! :D
