Is there anything worse than having a nearly parental figure spit shine your face?
I cannot think of one, but this was very sweet and funny. I really enjoyed how Spain's feelings were portrayed, and the depth you gave America's suffering to keep both France and China happy. It was truly endearing. A great chapter!

Oh my gosh! I've never shipped America and Spain before but here, you make it so realistic and amazing! America's efforts to win Spain over with anonymous artwork are just too cute, and poor Spain. I wish he'd find out soon because he really seems to appreciate the attention and America's suffering... Ahh they're just so cute and this story is so cute. I can't wait to see where you go with this!

Forgot to sign in, but I adore this. France acting as a concerned older brother, to teasing, to giving encouragement is just wonderful. I am glad you updated. America is very sweet in this, and I do enjoy how it was the France figured everything out.

Omg! I love this chapter. The way You describes the scene of what France saw when he walked in and what the painting looked like was so amazing. I can't wait until America shows Spain it. I wasn't expecting France to discover america, but it makes so much sense. Can't wait to read your next chapter

I am a hardcore Spamano fan, and the few times I venture to read other Spain pairings, I've never been that impressed. To add to that, Spain/America is a pairing I can't even begin to picture.
Until now.
This is amazing. The story is so simple and yet so complex and multi-layered. This fic gets its power from characterisation. You've portrayed *everybody* so well. I'm particularly fond of America here. He's such a darling. He just wants Spain to be happy, he's confident yet insecure, brazen yet shy. The little touches (him being all pseudo-spy to deliver the painting; that comment about Romano and the mafia), it's all so well-thought and touching. I like Spain too. I feel so sorry for him. And I imagine you were going with a one-sided Spamano thing, and he's sad because he loves Romano but Romano is dating England...? It makes sense, and it was handled very tastefully.
On to England and France. I think they're spot on. France in particular. You really have a way with characters. Not a single one of them is flat or boring.
You also write really well, and I loved the description of the paintings. It goes without saying that chapter 4, the one you were concerned about, is my favourite so far. I loved the discussion between America and France, and I loved, loved, LOVED the painting America made for Spain. You wrote it all so well. I could practically see it myself.
Please update soon. You've got a spamano shipper rooting for Spain/America to be happy together in this fic. Kudos xD. But no, seriously. I loved it and I can't wait to read more.
