I know it's been like 5 years since you last updated and will probably never read this, but I wanted to let you know just in case how much I enjoyed this reading this ficlet and really hope you'll continue. I feel like you have captured so well the the drama and incredibly passionate relationship, in addition to the impeccable characterization of Valentine and the intensity of their passion. I love this pairing so much and the way you explored it was so compelling and well written. Even if you don't continue, thank you for writing it so far anyway x

So happy someone got that reference! I say it was deliberate, but in fact it just popped into my head when I asked myself where Valentine had been. I only realised why much later — and decided to keep it!

Heh. Not sure yet what will happen, or whether I'm ready to venture into AU. But you know I'm Team Valentine, through and through... (*grin*)
I'm working on the next chapter(s), but at the moment that's leading me back to a pre-Uprising fic I started a while ago. It's hard to get a fix on Jocelyn and Valentine's feelings today without having a clearer picture in my head of the early, halcyon days of their marriage! Stay tuned...

I usually don't read Valentine/Jocelyn fics, but I really like your other stories, so I thought I'd try this.

I'm afraid it may be a little while before the next chapter: I'm a slow writer, and for once I'm posting as I go along, instead of waiting till the whole thing is done — never done that before. But somehow these first chapters insisted on being posted NOW. I think maybe Valentine isn't the sort of character who takes kindly to being penned up on your laptop while you mess about getting the rest of the story sorted. After fifteen years biding his time, he's not disposed to be kept waiting! And, well...he's an uncomfortable person to cross... :)
So I'm sorry to keep you waiting instead. In the meantime, you might enjoy my Jace and Valentine stories: I've got a few posted, and more to come soon. It's an earlier, slightly less implacable Valentine than we meet in this story — losing Jace has definitely not been good for him — but he's recognizably the same man...
