I really enjoyed the family dynamics here, with Hana putting ballet practice above food on Taichi's to-do list (heck, for even making him a to-do list in the first place), with Taichi being protective of his daughter, and, best of all, Taichi struggling to speak to a nonresponsive teenager. Teenagers, man. I could feel his pain with him pulling information out of his son, bit by painful bit XD I was the exact same way. That felt really real. Haha, what was it? See spot run sentences? A thousand times yes.
And you know what else felt super real? Taichi prodding his son to go talk to the girl. It just came off as the well-meaning interference that seems inherent to every parent. I'm not sure if I think that was smooth or bumbling on Taichi's part, although obviously it didn't work out too well. I'm glad Tarou is more or less okay!
Oh, lol, also Hana's mama bear instincts! And man, she was hardly mentioned in this, but her presence was so strong XD It's really cool how you did that, although I can't point out exactly how you managed it.
Overall, this was a warm, pleasant family portrait, and I liked it a lot! Hm, if I had to offer a critique, I would say that there was a bit of metaphorical language that didn't make sense to me. The opening paragraph comparing the light of a screen to a glance was a head-scratcher for me, as was the concept that a neck could get tired from back-talk. But it's all in the interpretation, so hey XD
I am so, so glad to see you posting again! And you know I'm anxious for the next Plus One update! Thank you so much for writing for us :D I'll be waiting for more! XD XD

Nice one-shot! I've always wondered what Tai and Hana's kid would be like, and now I know! :)
It was pretty funny watching Tai deal with Tarou and how he encouraged his son to go and make him proud, even though he was hesitant to talk to him about it first.
Loved Hana in this one! Honestly, ever since I've read your stories, I can't picture Tai with anyone else - OC or not. Hana's characterization and her dynamic with Tai is definitely one of the great parts in your stories. And I also liked how Tai encouraged his son, while I'm pretty sure he'd do the opposite with Hinata, if Kari was any indication as to how he's treat his daughter with boys.
I also loved the Mimi bit as well, and I could just imagine Hana saying that about her cooking show! Absolutely hilarious! Mimi's mention and Tai's predicament in this story made me wonder how Izzy and Mimi would deal with their own son or daughter in the field of love. I imagine Izzy being quite awkward and hilarious about it, and Mimi loving her husband getting flustered at the idea and prodding their children to just go for it! -another story idea perhaps? It would be amazing if you could write a Koumi one like this Girls story. Lol.
To sum up this lengthy review, I thought it was a well-written and great one-shot! I look forward to new stories/one-shots and updates for A Boy and A Girl Affair and Plus One! :)

Oh this is adorable! I love stories about Taichi as a parent and this one is so cute! From the very beginning to the very end Taichi's attitude and 'parenting style' was befitting to his character and super fun to read through out lol You have a very smooth way of using analogies and word choice to dictate what happens in the scene in a playful manner. Overall the tone was sweet and I enjoyed it very much. To my knowledge, I've never seen anyone depict Taichi's wife as you did. I kind of like that she was a lot like him only her traits were stronger in certain areas. And the way you chose to integrate and show case her was smart.
Not to get too wordy, I really liked your story! Thank you for the job well done! ]
