This is one of the best fanfics on FFN. I do hope that you will update soon, but if not, thanks for writing, what you have, as I have greatly enjoyed it.

It may seem strange to review an-author’s note, but I have to say, your comment about Dumbledore and war, well, the necessities of war, is spot on. So many, younger readers don’t seem to realise that the greater good is indeed for the greater good of most people.
As to this chapter, and all of them so far in fact, they are good. Frankly, your creative writing professor doesn’t know what he is talking about.

I for one am very glad that you decided to continue writing this fic despite that your classmate hated the first chapter. He was wrong.

I will never be a fan of the fact that the fandom blatantly abuses compulsion charms to essentially operate like the imperius curse especially where Dumbledore is involved, they are next to useless on fully trained witches and wizards unless said person already has a strong desire to do what the compulsion wants or has a weak mind.

To be honest canon Dumbledore was a good person, naïve and wanting to believe everyone has hope for a better future but that is generally who he was. The thing is that most people today view Dumbledore through the lens of wanting to see the worst possible reasoning for his actions. Most of which comes down to the prophecy so they act like he orchestrated Harrys entire life but that is easily such down by his view on prophecy, his own words were that prophecy is completely self fulfilling regardless of any action he took everything was going to happen one way or another. To much of people views on the character is fandom theories and cynicism to hold any credence in talking about his character.

I just discovered this story and it is very interesting so far (chap. 5).
My comment is more as an answer to your AN. Your analysis of Dumbledore would be correct if, and only IF, he were a muggle war leader. As a wizard, he has, in my opinion, many other options that would allow him to let Harry live while neutralising the threat of Voldemort. One would be, for instance, the drought of living death. There might also be many other solutions, but Dumbledore does not look for any, because he seems to consider himself the pinnacle of knowledge: if he knows no other solution, there is none. But that is not necessarily true. He seems to me to be a rather arrogant control-freak, that hordes the information he has, even though sharing some in controlled fashion would gain him more possibilites for handling things. He also assumes Harry is a true Horcrux, but as little as is being said about how horcruxes are created, magic would not make it so simple as "kill someone, take the torn piece of your soul an stick it into a random object you have at hand". Sirely the object must be prepared, else taking the soul piece out ought to be as simple as sticking it in. Since Harry was to be the sacrifice, if any horcrux making was planed at all, he is not a "prepared storage object", thus not a true horcrux. That should change the situation, but Dumbledore ust won't consider it. And I really think he refuses to consider any other options, based on one very damning sentence he says right at the beginning of book 1: "'He'll have that scar forever.' 'Couldn't you do something about it, Dumbledore?' 'Even if I could, I wouldn't. Scars can come in handy.'" He's already planed ways to use the scar/horcrux and would not change those EVEN IF HE COULD, his own words! That's not a "leader" choosing the options allowing to save the most people, that's a self-centered, arrogant, sociopath decinding who to use as tool/martyr in his war games.

God! I am in love with this fanfic. I mean this is amazing. This side of Harry has never been explored before and while i admit that i was her for draco but Harry's character has me hooked. There are so many books that are vetter than the original series, JK Rowling just gave characters and a new idea, what authors such as you are doing with it is amazing and far better than what she had done, not that i dont like her work. I just like the fanfictions more. I hope you update soon in the future. Stay safe and stay healthy.

I'm curious, was Snape back to being the head of Slytherin at this point? Because the way he was acting, it seemed as if he was. If not, who is the Head of Slytherin now?

I loved the way Harry turned the twins' prank against them, and the reaction of the rest of the Great Hall!

I happened to find this story on another author's favorites list and I'm intrigued, to say the least! I really like your characterization of Draco, and Ron Weasley is actually a bit of a surprise as well.
The idea of the curse on the Malfoy family is interesting as well, and I'm curious to see how it plays out.
I'm also curious about the other vassals that were mentioned. How did that come about?

I really enjoyed your story so far, and hope you continue to update. It isn’t usually A plot I particularly enjoy. However, you’ve managed to depict the characters in a very human light! Usually, I don’t like the genre as I feel that women are seen as pawns in a way, however you have made the female characters seem powerful in their own right and although Harry is a lord it says that he still needs help from other people! I really do enjoy your story and hope you continue to write as you are talented! I also particularly like the way Draco is portrayed as well as Dumbledore.
