Wow, that reminded me quite much of "H2O Just add Water", because Katara transformed in a glowing lake on an island, and only transforms, when she touches water...
But I don't get why she doesn't want Zuko to know. It's not like he would not believe her, if she told him how that happened. That agreement with Azula is dumb in my opinion. Katara would never tell Azula where Aang is, and playing good prisoner? Katara? Ha, there we see that Azula doesn't know her at all.
And I really really hope that they can escape before they make it to the capital, and that Azula won't find them again before the day of Sozin's Comet.
I was wondering if Katara could maybe use her voice in her mermaid form to hypnotise the guards, hopefully this works on girls, too, but not on Zuko, so that he could carry her, while they simply walk away... Or Katara could even manipulate men with her singing, so that the guards would attack Azula...
Your Azula is really really really evil and psychotic. I always liked to believe that she wouldn't do the things you wrote about in the last chapter, but I guess I have to face reality. I'm sure Azula didn't mean "she was very pleasant to get along with and complied without any problems", when she told Sokka that Suki was her "favourite prisoner", so yeah, she might not be above torture. I pity her.

Interesting, are there any others of her kind or is she the only one? Will they escape in time or remain captives forever? Lol love the mermaid.. Hope they can escape with the captain and crew turning the tides of war on the capital. That would be an epic plot twist

I’m excited to see where this goes.
