Thorin, Thorin... :)
Poor guy, hehe.
Ok, I don't agree with him when he thinks that Kili cannot go on and forget the attack because he's been too cuddled. Of course it's false. Traumas can break even the stronger man/woman.
But, we know, typical Thorin.
But when he talks to Kili, he is surprisingly tender, so sensitive. He says good things, and then... DUN DUN DUUUUN! Then the "little Kili" words happened. It seems a curse! Durin's Bane was the Balrog. And Thorin's Bane probably is his very tongue. :P

Man, just when Thorin was having a break through, to himself and Kili. One step forward, two steps back. It was a really good talk, though. I couldn't believe that Thorin was actually being reasonable and discussing ... feelings. ;-). I hope his patience holds out. Kili needs it.

I love this story so much... probably the best one Ive ever read.
Cant wait for next update! :3
Looks like things might start getting a little bit better now that Thorin knows how Kili feels...

Yeah! Four more chapters! :)
In a previous note you wrote "28 chapters", and I wasn't ready for the end, at all.
Now I'm happy again, and starting to reread all the story.
I think the chapters of the attack, Kili injured in the clearing and Fili bringing him back home, are very good and intense (I didn't review those parts, so I do now).
In this chapter I like that Dis talks to Thorin. She knows him better than everyone. And she knows her son. I like how she thinks of the differences between uncle and nephew: Kili being too open to hide his true feelings, too vibrant...

I'm glad this chapter opened with Thorin remembering Azanulbizar, because that was all I could think about after the last chapter - that Thorin of all people should know that not even revenge can erase trauma. So glad to see it here - and glad Thorin had Fili to save him from himself in the last chapter, before Thorin went and said something in anger/frustration that would have left his relationship with Kili (and Kili himself) in tatters.
I do hope Fili does understand a little better now.

Oh, the brotherly love is so touching. Kili is trying so hard, and Fili wants to be there for him, to be his anchor.
And Thorin... He evidently is a very flawed dwarf, but in this chapter I see his great love for his family. I love his character very much, flaws and qualities. :)

When Thorin stood to go speak with Kili I was kinda "NOOO! Fili, stop him!" He, he.
Thanks, Fili, you really are a caring big brother. :)
But, at the same time, I'm curious to know what Thorin wants to say, how Kili will react, and if he'll finally tell his uncle the pain is still there and cannot go away easily. .
Curious curious me!

Very important to show that the trauma doesn't just magically disappear! Something that certainly doesn't fit into Thorin's world view, even though or maybe because he probably has similar experiences regarding Azanilbizar (which of course he would never admit).

Justice does not make the pain go away. Now, he just needs time and patience (looking at you Thorin).

As if we ever thought that Dwarves did muck about. Ha. Especially Thorin.
