Christine is finally in the picture! I remember my sister telling me about this. I guess Charles and Anna Daae make good looking babies. ha ha

I think Anna was trained in singing or general music since she was ten. I think she is going to influence Erik in music because of it.

During Christmas break, I figured I would get some reading in so I looked to some of your writing I have not read yet and picked this one! I am excited to read this. I know my sister has read this one. The beginning is indeed intriguing.

Hello. I must thank you sincerely for how beautifully you have cared for Erik. The story of the Phantom has been a favorite of mine throughout my childhood, and yet as I grew up and learned how trauma and abuse can affect people, how the roots of that grow into an ugly thorn tree that can never be chopped down, and how in many ways I was a victim of someone who had been so horribly victimized in their past, I couldn't read or watch that story anymore (it also killed My Fair Lady for me... how Eliza could be so stupid as to go back to Higgins?). Someone who is unable to change shows no remorse and no empathy, and no matter how much love may be shown on one side, the toxicity of the relationship is fundamentally unhealthy. The trap of "if I just love him enough, if I'm just enough, he may change..."

In some ways, I missed that world; the opulence, the mystery, the self discovery... And then I somehow stumbled across this Jewel (and yes, I am making a shameless reference to Erik's beloved daughter here!) of a story. A story wherein a character I found so fascinating in my youth but grew to recognize was not a good one was given a beautiful gift that was juuuuuusssst enough to keep him from tipping over the edge. He was taught empathy, love, respect, and ***He Chose To Hold On To That***. Despite all the horrific things he experienced and did, he still had empathy, he showed remorse, and he wanted to make himself a better man. When offered the tools (sorry, Christine, but this is the only time being referred to as a 'tool' is remotely a compliment!), ***He Chose To Make Use Of Them***.

You have given us all the gift of this familiar story, with all its opulence, the mystery, the self discovery, yet with growth, with genuine love, without the sugar-coating of 'and they all lived happily ever after!' baloney. You have given us the gift of an Erik we all can truly grow to love without falling into a psychopathic whirlwind of abuse. I had to notice that every time gaslighting was brought up, Erik was continually making things brighter for Christine... if that is not proof that he is no narcissist, I don't know what is!

I just purchased your novel from Amazon, and I will treasure it. Erik is finally a hero it is safe to root for, Christine is Finally portrayed as an intelligent, loving, deep, healthy woman... and **Finally** these two have worked hard together to create the happy ending we all hoped for them.

Thank you. Truly.

Very domestic blissy and sweet! Thus, I really like the twist of Erik wanting to adopt a Disfigured orphan. Awesome! That nicely twists away from their little family being too neatly enfolded into normalcy. LOL Or, should I say their actually quite sprawling family? And yes, I do like the twist of Erik owning the OPera. Nice!

Awww! Very well done indeed! Very good and natural pacing. Very cute getting them through all the awkwardness! Those two are really adorable. Oh, and their wedding in the previous chapter was gorgeous too!

:-) Nice job with the Raoul appearance! LOL Though, leave it to Erik to get totally jealous even though he hasn't the slightest thing to worry about. Because, thankfully, Raoul didn't turn Christine's head at all! Though, I 99-percent didn't think that, at this point in the story, she would let her head get turned by a pretty boy. LOL And I 99-percent didn't think you were that sadistic an author. Glad to find I was right! Phew! And yeah, Charles and Erik totally bonded over their mutual deChagny hatred!

Oh Don't you dare! YOu wouldn't throw Raoul in to create a triangle now, at the last minute. Would you?! God I hope not!

LOL Yeah, could Charles have put that any more bluntly? Jeeze! The guy really has got to learn some tact! Did it not occur to him that Erik and Anna might prefer to have that conversation in private? Well, it'd probably be OK for Christine to be there. But I'm pretty sure Erik would not want to discuss that in front of Amir and neither would Anna!

Great job with the E/C reunion btw. And good for Christine for handling Erik's occupation as Opera Ghost so well! LOL I was afraid she'd pitch a respectability fit over his salary. So I'm glad she was so chill about it! And I'm glad Charles was so chill about it and doesn't hold it against Erik and Christine for their marriage. Though, yeah, I can understand him wanting his soon-to-be son-in-law to have an honest profession. That said, though, I hope he understands the challenges involved in that for Erik and is willing to help as much as Erik will let him! And I'm glad Charles at least understands Erik's fear of passing on his deformity.

Oh yep, the Erik and Anna reunion was perfect! LOL Although, Erik really should have told Christine about his gig as the Opera Ghost! Because, why do I have a feeling that's about to come around to bite him in the ass at least in a small way? LOL And I loved Christine saying she doesn't know whether to kiss Erik's lips or slap them. Yep, she's definitely going to need to be tough with him on occasion, but gently. Because, dear Erik's heart's definitely in the right place ultimately, but he can BS with the best of them sometimes! And she's going to have to gently but firmly help him learn that that's not cool, especially to your spouse.

And at least he and Christine are back in the same room! Now they can hopefully work things out, LOL even if they have a lot of issues to work through. I just hope Erik won't be too mad at Amir for showing Christine the way down to his Lair. After all, it is Christine!

Well, I can't entirely blame Christine's father for being suspicious at first. But he should at least have let them explain and listened! And yeah, now he's completely overreacting. Christine and Anna definitely have their work cut out for them! But at least their allied :-). I had a feeling Anna would get on side pretty quickly once she figured out who Erik is. And she may even have some ideas how to find him, figuring he'd be drawn to the idea of living in/beneath an opera house. And now she's going to be as determined to find him as Christine I would imagine!

Meanwhile, I hope Amir can convince Erik to quit moping and fight for his and Christine's engagement. Yeah, her father's going to be a formidable obstacle. But he shouldn't doubt Christine's love! Yeah, she would have been furious with him if he'd actually hurt or, heaven forbid, killed her father. But I think she would ultimately have forgiven him and still loved him. And he didn't harm her father, and she'll definitely be able to forgive his temper given that he stopped in time! And as for needing her voice to stop him, that's what true partner's do - have your back and stop you when you're about to do something stupid/irrevocable! He'd do the same for her.
