Being more serious now. Because of a few odd things IRL, BtVS being in Marvel isn't a stretch, but it's just hilarious to think of it. Better would be if this was a corruption of a prophesy, like... I don't know, some repelled invasion sci-fi like War of the Worlds followed by Mass Effect in a more late point in time.

Uh, might want to change the date from 1996, since the three prequels definitely weren't out then...Phantom Menace didn't come out till 1999. Plus the Vong didn't show up till after 2000, so maybe changing it to 2006 will work?

Well, I hope you can continue this sometime.
Although I do wonder how he will find the over hundred thousand crew members for his ship.
I remember one Ship of the Line story with Xander ending up becoming Darth Vader and getting personnel from the American Armed Forces.
Personally would have gotten troops from the NATO, Russians, South America and Chinese to ensure parity.
