...holy crap.
I'm concerned for Dimentio and the fact that he can't use white magic. If I can take a guess on Timpani, this is going to be leading into the third Timpani/Blumiere conversation we get in the game, but that's just my best guess at assuming at least some of the fanfic will be remaining canon since I think you're diverging from canon if I remember hearing about that correctly.
But now I'm a lot more concerned about the stuff with Basile and Aldrik, Aldrik is horrifying and I'm concerned at where he's trying to move the pieces. I knew he was bad, but something about that is probably worse than I thought was possible. It's horrifying, and I'm worried for what it means for Blumiere.

Timpani meeting Dimentio asaiahfdwuqeofheqwiufhewquif good. I liked the interaction too, and I hope she manages to get to Blumiere.
I was literally scared for Ronan when I heard the description of the wound like my brain just went "Oh god no please no please"
Also I'm really glad Dimentio got to meet his grandfather. I really hope it does give him a bit of sway in not falling to darkness.
Side note about all this stuff, I'd been suspecting something was going on with the disappearance of Dimentio's mother with some of the stuff from earlier but that was not what I was expecting and literally I'm just sitting here going "Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god" repeatedly because ooooooh my god that's not okay. (Except maybe not with that exact language. XD)

I remember when I was excited to read a new chapter.
...I wasn't ready for this. ;w;
I feel like this was a shout out to O'Chunks' canon backstory where he's a general and watches his army die, and ow, my heart. ;w; Ronan didn't deserve to have to watch Kathleen and Clay die like that and I'm genuinely upset for him.
And Blumiere's side of things isn't any less painful, especially when the argument can be made for the war being at least somewhat caused by him...he's probably going to be upset with himself for going for a long while, isn't he? A fate he doesn't deserve either.
I'm also very concerned over the fact that Timpani might learn teleportation magic. We're in the early enough set up for Blumiere's story where I can't see you having Blumiere's father banish Timpani yet, but I'm still concerned over what that could mean for her anyways if she did learn.
Anyways, horrible punch to the feels and worries about my favorite characters aside, this was another great chapter, definitely worth the wait.

Ohh boy, a little kid character XD. Normally they annoy me, but Ronan seems alright. And I had a sneaking suspicion that the chain chomp wasn't wild, since they're basically just big dogs. Great chapter, Drifty!
