Well that's one way to do things. How to get change? Give the King a bunch of nightmares about killing his best friend because of magic. To the point where he's just tired of the choices and decided that when he does find out he's just going to listen because really he can't kill his best friend. (Cough.) I mean man servant. It's a good idea to give Arthur a couple trial runs to figure out how to address the whole magic problem, even if it severely traumatizes him. Now he can react properly at the revelation. Although I liked the angsty original scenarios as well.

I am really relieved it was just a dream. And it's fun seeing Merlin's shenanigans revealed without his magic, and Arthur wanting him to stop taking risks. Great stuff.
