I admittedly completely forgot what the deal with Legend is right now. From this chapter it looks like he's on the outs with the Protectorate and Cauldron, so I think this might have to do with the S9 aftermath? Either way, I like him showing up here and trying to help Taylor, with New Wave forming up around her. RCB & Hero's goal in this interaction remains a mystery until next chapter, so that'll be interesting to find out about.
Meanwhile, the ABB are proceeding with their Free Inago plan. If they're smart they won't involve anyone New Wave care about, but even then Inago will probably want to challenge Taylor again. Either way, that's definitely continuing to ramp towards an explosion.
And Piggot got fired! It was interesting to see her self-righteousness here, that was a version of Piggot you don't often see in fanfics, clinging to her power not out of necessity, to oppose a looming or rampaging threat, but just for power's sake. I think it works quite well for an Emily Piggot that's riding the high of having successfully gotten a Cape to end Nilbog for her only to get dropped into this aftermath.

Negotiating with someone who is annoyed with you is always a challenge and I wonder how many steps this path shaves off of Contessa's PTV. Rebecca seems to be overlooking that she wasn't told ahead of time for a reason.

Tbh I don't like worm cannon, I don't like most of the characters, and the ones I do like either die or get screwed over one way or another. The top of that list of those I don't like is Piggy, Alexandria, and Eidolon. I do however love the fanfictions, I get a special bit of happiness when those three get there shit kicked in one way or another. I'm rooting for taylor to twist the nail and get as much as she can out of it. I'm loving this fic and can't wait to read more of it in the future!

No, she is usually depicted as a control freak because honestly in that job and with the switching back and forth of roles - she'd have to be. Especially with the lack of vacation or down time that living two high-profile lives simultaneously would involve.
In our world, with our limited resources, if a Cabinet member in the US goes somewhere and takes time off - there are people who note it and report it. Even with Contessa occasionally using a Path to cover, it would be really tricky to just get away for an extended period by herself.
The aside with the ABB was also interesting, going for a bulky exoskeleton instead of something more comprehensive or sleek/fast. Minor Mover and Brute abilities applied in bulk would certainly change up the way they manage their resources.

Costa-Brown really has no idea of how to deal with people. Does she have no idea that she's going to be dealing with a lawyer and a union organizer, people who know bullshit when they hear it, and a wyvern who can undoubtedly evolve to handle all threats including Cauldron?
